Thank You from my whole heart! 🫶🏾
I left Let’s Talk About S*x (LTAS) with a full heart, a deeper sense of purpose, and so much gratitude.
Thank you to SisterSong , ACLU of Kentucky , Jackie McGranahan , and Ana’Neicia| Community Care Architect for creating the space and extending the opportunity for Love Thy Belly to be represented as a presenter at LTAS DURING Fat Liberation Month!
As a fat, Black, q***r woman, being in a room where we can talk openly about sexuality, pleasure, autonomy, bodies, identity, and liberation is not something I take lightly. For me, this wasn’t just another conference. It was a reminder that our bodies, our stories, our pleasure, and our voices belong in these conversations, too!
Being able to bring Love Thy Belly into a national space felt powerful. I got to stand in my truth, speak from lived experience, and remind people that fat bodies deserve autonomy, visibility, pleasure, respect, and freedom without having to shrink themselves to be worthy of any of it.
Thank you for trusting me with the room!! Thank you for making space for my voice. Thank you for allowing Love Thy Belly (The Fairen Effect) to take up space nationally.
I’m especially grateful for every person who listened, participated, laughed, reflected, questioned, shared, and connected with me along the way.
This is what liberation looks like to me: creating room for all of us to be fully human.
And Love Thy Belly will keep showing up to make sure all bodies are good bodies and all of our stories deserve to be heard.
With love, gratitude, and a whole lot of belly,
Fairen Kia
