YASSSSSSS honeyyyyyyyyy!! • 📺AS SEEN ON THE 👏🏾!!!👏🏾

Tonight I appeared on and I’m still in awe.

During the interview I had a moment where I perfectly described my art practice in under a minute. A decade plus of research, travel, and life experience all suddenly made sense out loud. And today while watching I got soooo emotional because in that moment I realized… wow. I realllyyy know exactly who I am as an artist.

From studying painting at , to Florence , to South Africa, to France, to living back home in Louisville, KY in my Mom’s basement for 4+ years feeling lost and invisible…every step of the journey led me here.

My work is inspired by cubism and fragmentation, but for me those fractured forms represent something deeper: the multidimensionality of Black identity. We are never just one thing. We are many parts at once.

Thank you for such a beautiful conversation and for being someone I’ve looked up to since I was a little girl. It meant the world to give you your painting for the world to see!!

Upon waking from a dream back in 2022 I felt a supernatural level of peace. I felt no peace in my life at the time, so I knew it wasn’t coming from me. “Haha, the Prince of Peace must be in the room with me!” I joked. “Jesus, what’s up?!” I thought in my mind. And I kid you not, I felt the voice of God tell me to “Stop following trends and just speak to the people.”

The first thing I said back, with allll the gift of gab I had in me was “Oh my gosh…what am I going to say?!”

But a few days later, I picked up my phone, hit record, and I spoke anyway. And that act of extremely imperfect, consistent obedience led me to be a guest on The Jennifer Hudson Show 4 years later. I love you, Jesus. Keep on using me. 🥹🫂

I’m still listening.

Thank you all for being here with me on this journey. I wouldn’t be here without you! Never give up!!!!!! The world needs the good you got in you to come OUT! 🥹😉🤩
