Do you know someone who is looking to move ahead into upper levels of supervision and administration, need an education in management and planning, and are interested in a flexible, yet rigorous, program developed for working professionals?

Introducing the Parks and Recreation Emerging Professionals Program (PREPP), which is in partnership with CU Denver and the national nonprofit GP RED.

PREPP is an intensive, 15-month, online certificate program designed for working professionals who want to move into supervisory or administration roles in parks and recreation. It is ideal for people who have experience working in parks and recreation departments and who would like a more formal education in planning and administration.

Due to recent events with COVID-19, one of the key strategies we have developed is the use of facilitated online public and stakeholder meetings through a service called MOE or mobile optimized engagement.

With current circumstances encouraging social distancing, we want to ensure that residents are still able to participate in a meaningful way, while providing valuable information for key leaders in the organization. In order to make the online engagement process successful, we have developed a toolkit to ease the transition from in-person to virtual meetings.

We have strong experience in using online technologies to work and to engage with the public, staff, and stakeholders. If you are finding yourself in need of new technology to allow for virtual meetings, we can help!

Let’s Review GreenPlay’s Improved Approach for Resource Allocation & Cost Recovery…

We’ve established this approach to help agencies create an overall philosophy and process for pricing programs, evaluating resource allocation, and evaluating cost recovery.

This method is key for creating strategies that are equitable, defensible, and can be implemented at all levels. The methodology is based on the *value* of the services to the community, not on a comparative evaluation of others. It is an extension of “activity-based costing,” but takes the analysis further by assimilating the values accepted and defined by your community and elected officials.

We can help evaluate your agency’s current and potential methods for fair pricing and appropriate cost recovery.

Happy National Take a Hike Day! 🌳 🥾

Here is an example of how our wonderful SHIFT Summit attendees hiked the local turf of Grand Junction, Colorado a couple of weeks ago at our annual conference.

Our goal was to provide a variety of opportunities for active outdoor recreation so that participants could deepen their connections to the local surrounding and create personal stories.

We support and the good work they do. Today, on National Take a Hike Day, their mission is to provide everyone with more access to local parks and recreation. Let's support them in their mission by using the tag attached with a photo of your local hike excursions!
