Your actions, your kindness, your courage, and your example creates ripples that extend far beyond yourself. Every time you help someone, listen deeply, or show up authentically, you shape a life. That life can go on to shape many more.

Purpose isn’t a destination; it’s a ripple effect. You are a pebble on the pond, and the world needs your ripple.

If this series resonated with you, consider exploring these lessons more fully in The Road to Purpose.

After spending 20, 30, or well, a lot of years building businesses, leading teams, and navigating complex challenges, many executives reach a point where the question is no longer "What's my next promotion?"
It's "What's my next chapter?"

I've noticed a growing number of experienced leaders exploring business coaching as a way to stay engaged, remain intellectually challenged, and continue making an impact without the demands of a traditional corporate role.

In this article, I explore why many senior executives and soon-to-retire leaders are choosing business coaching, and why organizations like Focal Point are attracting professionals who want to turn a lifetime of experience into a meaningful business and legacy.

After all, we were just named one of the best franchise opportunities to explore in 2026.

Here are a few more practical tips for building a vision statement:

1️⃣ Start with a commitment: “I commit to…” forces ownership
2️⃣ Define a measurable outcome: Revenue, growth, client satisfaction, productivity
3️⃣ Add a timeline: 3 to 5 years creates urgency and focus
4️⃣ Keep it short: If it’s not memorable, it won’t be used

Then do the part most leaders skip:
✴️ Communicate it often
✴️ Involve your team in shaping it
✴️ Connect daily work back to it

Vision is not just something you write once.

It’s something you reinforce until it drives behavior. If your team can’t connect their work to the vision, there is likely a communication problem.

Real estate agents are already functioning as business coaches, even if they haven't labeled it that way.

Every day, you guide clients through significant financial and emotional decisions. You manage expectations, navigate uncertainty, and help clients make confident choices with incomplete information. This is coaching.

There are strong parallels between real estate and business coaching that facilitate a natural transition:

- **Building Trust Quickly**: In real estate, relationships develop rapidly, and stakes are high. Clients depend on you to guide them through complex decisions, establishing trust that translates directly into coaching.

- **Managing High-Stakes Decisions**: Buying or selling a home involves risk, timing, negotiation, and emotion. You already assist clients in thinking clearly under pressure.

- **Asking Better Questions**: Great agents don’t just show properties; they uncover motivations, priorities, and long-term goals. This skill is central to effective coaching.

- **Balancing Emotion and Logic**: Real estate transactions are never purely transactional. You guide clients through emotional decisions while keeping them grounded in reality.

- **Operating with Discipline and Consistency**: Prospecting, follow-up, and pipeline management demonstrate that you understand results come from structure and ex*****on.

As many agents begin to feel this shift, it becomes clear that it's no longer just about closing deals. It's about creating a bigger impact—helping clients not just move homes, but also move forward in their thinking, leadership, and growth.

Business coaching is a natural evolution of your skill set, allowing you to leverage what you've mastered and apply it at a deeper level. Instead of guiding transactions, you guide transformation.

If you've found yourself advising clients beyond the sale, if your conversations naturally lead to goals, challenges, and bigger decisions, and if you enjoy helping people gain clarity and take action, you may already be thinking like a coach.

Focal Point Business Coaching has great opportunities for the right people. Are we a good fit for you? Let's find out.

I've been sharing a series of posts about my book, "The Road To Purpose," which is the story of how I found my way after several challenges that changed my life significantly.

During that journey, I realized that I had always been a Coach. I was leading teams in the corporate world, climbing the proverbial ladder, but I was also mentoring, supporting, and developing my team to make an impact not just in our company but in the world.

If this sounds like you, I would love to share the story of my journey. It's my passion to help others realize their purpose before life forces it upon them, and maybe hearing my story will become a part of writing yours.

Memorial Day is often associated with cookouts, long weekends, and the unofficial start of summer. But at its core, it is a day of remembrance for the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice is a reminder that leadership is not about titles or recognition. It is about commitment, responsibility, and serving something greater than yourself.

Memorial Day offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and appreciate the freedoms and opportunities we often take for granted.

As leaders, one of the best ways we can honor that sacrifice is by leading with integrity, supporting others, and building something meaningful that positively impacts the people around us.

Today, we remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Is it lonely running your own company as a Business & Executive Coach?

Do we look lonely? One of the best parts of buying a franchise with Focal Point is the support system. This picture is from our Annual Conference after a long day of sharing ideas, experiences and resources, we got together and just had a great time.
