A blessing in disguise
➤I came to the age of life when I consider my son as the biggest blessing from God ever.
➤He turned out to be a moral, wise, serious, responsible, and caring son. He is the one who brings me flowers from time to time. He is the one who hugs me every day. He is the one who understands me and comforts me. He shares my sadness and my joy.
➤However, it wasn’t always this way. I remember, he was a very energetic child. Often, he had a lack of focus at school. Sometimes he didn’t respect me, and it seemed like he didn’t take any advice from me. Just like many other teenagers would do. We went through so many tough times together.
➤See, I consider a baby in a house as a blessing. In my case, with a birth of my child, a lot of sadness came into my life as well. I was 26 and already a single mother going through the divorce.
➤As challenges in life usually don’t come alone, a lot of bad things started happening at the same time. Ever since my son was born, he suffered from acute bronchial asthma. It was very hard seeing a month or three-month-old baby having problems with breathing.
➤It is hard to describe this in words but it’s something similar to fighting for a life on a daily basis. He was suffering from bronchial asthma for more than ten years. Finally, at the age of ten, we have found a cure.
➤I remember clearly the day of his last asthma attack. He was feeling so bad that he was unable to walk. I needed to bring him to the hospital in a wheelchair. When a doctor saw how critical his condition was, my son was immediately taken care of. As usual, they gave him asthma ventilation medication. But, this time, they directed him to the other specialist.
➤That’s when my son was prescribed a new medicine – Singulair. It really helped him. He never had asthma attacks again. He took this medicine for two years, and was cured.
➤See, sometimes our challenges in life are the blessings in disguise…
➤If you are going through the challenge right now in your life, keep in mind that not everything is as it looks like. Very often, we are not capable of estimating what is good for us. Do your best and trust God that everything will turn out well.
