WCSO Press Release: Update into the investigation of missing person Kaysey Yoder

[Greeley, CO] The sheriff’s office wants to update the public and the media on the active and ongoing investigation into missing person, Kaysey Yoder. This update is being issued with the hope that if anyone knows anything about Kaysey’s disappearance, and they have not come forward, we ask them to do so now. We also ask for the public, and members of the media to understand this is still an active, and on-going investigation and we intend to preserve its integrity for Kaysey, and her family.

On Jan. 14th, 2024, around 4:00 pm, 34-year-old Kaysey Yoder walked away from the 36000 block of Appy road in unincorporated Weld County, Colorado. Kaysey’s husband reported her missing on Jan. 15, 2024, at 11:29 am. In response, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office has spoken to over 20 members of Kaysey’s family, friends, and uninvolved witnesses to her disappearance. Several conventional interviews, forensic interviews, and a polygraph have been conducted. An in depth two square mile search using drones, a K9, and on foot searches of her last confirmed location was conducted shortly after her disappearance. Be On the Look Out alerts were sent to surrounding law enforcement agencies and the Weld County Sheriff’s Office spoke directly with seven other law enforcement agencies asking for assistance. Some of our partners sent specialized teams based on our requests to look in specific areas. Unfortunately, none of these leads panned out to anything sheriff’s office detectives could follow up on. Additional visual searches of Weld County Road 74 and Highway 14 along with their interconnected Weld County roads from Kaysey’s residence to the Fort Collins area were also conducted, as well as a five-mile search to the east on Weld County Road 74. The Weld County Sheriff’s Office has also followed up on roughly 50 community tips about Kaysey, including alleged sightings. Depending on relevance to our partner agencies, some have been passed onto those partners. Unfortunately, these investigative efforts have not uncovered where Kaysey went or where she is now, but no criminal act is suspected involving Kasey’s departure from home.

The sheriff’s office is incredibly grateful for the public’s assistance in this case, and social media has played a useful part in relaying information to the public. Calls and posts regarding sightings or Kaysey’s activities on January 14th were very helpful. However, calls and statements that are obviously false, or worse, misleading, are not. These only serve to slow legitimate efforts to locate her. Some have even proclaimed knowledge that would be helpful in locating Kaysey, then avoided talking to detectives. Some bad actors have also used social media-based scams to try and take advantage of Kaysey’s family.

The sheriff’s office has also consulted with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Kaysey’s case. We will also continue to work with the Weld County District Attorney’s Office and the 19th Judicial District to obtain search authority for evidence to help narrow the search. However, at this time, a criminal act is not suspected to have played a part in Kaysey’s departure from her home.

If you happen to see Kaysey, please don’t wait to contact your local law enforcement. It is important for the community and the media to know that we only want to ensure Kaysey is safe. Again, we believe Kaysey left because she wanted to, and at this time, we do not suspect a crime was committed when she left her home. If you have any information about the disappearance of Kaysey Yoder, please call Detective Stupka at (970) 400-2832 or you can call our tip line at (970) 304-6464 or email your tip to [email protected] .

It's been 133 days since Kaysey went missing. Everything reminds me of Kaysey. Everytime I see something heart shaped. The number 822. Plants. Free stuff lol. My water bottle. Songs we used to dance to. Owls. Jewelry. Eyelashes. Forgiveness. Acceptance. The color pink. I remember our motorcycle rides. Cleaning the house super fast. Out Cold. Chicken dinners at the Cafe. Walmart on her birthday 😂 Shpyyyy. Car rides in Loveland in the silver Honda. Swimming at the river. So many dinners together. Her terrible singing voice 😂 My favorite summer of all time. Spring Canyon. Watching her become an expert skater. She remembered what kind of onions I like on my tacos & other tiny details about me that nobody else noticed. The beautiful way that she loved me & everyone else in her life. The impression she made on me will exist forever. I'm grateful for all the years we shared together. Wish I could have a lifetime more. Talk about a best friend. Nobody can ever match what she did for me. Forever missing you Kaysey Yoder. I love you forever & beyond.
