๐ฑ What a great few days in New York City at the 2026 NIHC Global Industrial H**p Fiber Summit!
The Summit brought together leaders from across the industrial h**p community for meaningful conversations, new connections, and collaboration around agriculture, fiber, textiles, sustainability, policy, research, and market development.
A highlight for Agriculture Policy Solutions was APS Director Hunter Buffington moderating H**p, Heritage & the Future: Indigenous Leadership in a Sustainable World.
Hunter was joined by Winona LaDuke, Organizer with the Indigenous H**p Cooperative, and Ira Vandever, Owner and Operator of Turquoise Indigo Fibers and the PDL Living Heritage and Resilience Hub.
Their conversation explored how Indigenous knowledge, cultural heritage, and modern innovation can help shape a more resilient and regenerative future for h**p. The discussion highlighted opportunities across agriculture, natural fibers, textiles, and economic development while reinforcing the importance of diverse perspectives in building this industry.
Beyond the panel, the Summit gave us the opportunity to reconnect with longtime colleagues, meet new partners, exchange ideas, and discuss what it will take to build stronger h**p supply chains and markets.
A sincere thank you to the National Industrial H**p Council and everyone involved in organizing the Summit, as well as the speakers, panelists, sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees who made the event possible.
We are leaving NYC energized by the connections made and excited to keep the conversations going! ๐ฑ
