MPI K9 LLC has been awarded a firm-fixed-price contract by U.S. Customs and Border Protection for the delivery of seven untrained detection canines to the U.S. Border Patrol Canine Academy in El Paso, Texas. The award was issued as a small business set-aside, with delivery scheduled for completion by August 31, 2026.

Mike McHenry

Class: Canine Supervisor Class

Mike McHenry, who served 8 years in the U.S. Army, is the owner & Lead Trainer of F.M. K9 LLC, which was founded in 2012. He has over 25 years of experience in the canine industry, training explosives and narcotics detection, patrol/utility work, SAR, and Cadaver for local, state, federal and military.

Mike is a retired police officer, having served 20 years on the force, and a former SWAT officer for 11 years, 3 of those years were spent with a canine SWAT Team.

Mike McHenry has a BSA in Criminal Justice and a Masters Degree in Psychology. He is a DRE/SFST Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor and has instructed basic decoy skills for over 15 years.
