The Thom Anne Sullivan Center offers programs including Early Intervention, Welcome Family, and Parents as Teachers (PAT), supporting families from the prenatal stage through early childhood.

At Dumbo’s Community Fest 2026, they’ll be sharing information about their programs and resources available to our community, along with small giveaways for children and families. 🎁💕

Safe Families Grant Supports Situational Safety Training at Thom Anne Sullivan Center

On June 3, 2026, Thom Anne Sullivan Center Early Intervention Program had the distinct privilege of hosting Laura Crosby, Founder of Braverick Insights and Learning Experience Designer and Facilitator, and Radames Gonzalez, Police Lieutenant and Instructor, for an in-person, two-hour all-staff Situational Safety Training.

Made possible in part through the generous grant funding Thom Anne Sullivan Center received from Cummings Foundation to support its “Safe Families” program, the training focused on situational awareness and maintaining safety as home visitors. Laura and Radames spent time training and engaging with staff about practical strategies to strengthen awareness, preparedness, and confidence while working in the community.

Staff shared overwhelmingly positive feedback, with many describing it as one of the most impactful trainings held at Thom Anne Sullivan Center. As part of the session, staff reflected on what worked well, what could be done differently, and key takeaways from the training. These reflections highlighted the value of practical, relevant safety education in supporting the important work early intervention providers do each day with young children and families.

With support from the Cummings Foundation grant, Thom Anne Sullivan Center continues to expand education, resources, and safety-related supports for staff and families, with the goal of promoting the health, safety, and well-being of young children in the communities we serve.

We are grateful to Cummings Foundation for making this meaningful professional development opportunity possible, and to Laura Crosby, Braverick Insights, and Lieutenant Radames Gonzalez for sharing their time, knowledge, and expertise with our team.

Recently, we had the privilege of celebrating the impactful career of one of our amazing clinicians. For the last 30 years, Dorie Wolf has served the families and children of the Greater Lowell area as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for The Anne Sullivan Center Early Intervention Program. We are so thankful for the lasting mark she has made on the staff and families of our program. We wish Dorie all the best with her upcoming retirement and thank her for being such an important part of The Anne Sullivan Center's history.
