Market report for Friday 9-4 at Thorp. Junion Homestead Farm dispersal.

Sale topped at 4700 with 90 head selling from 3500 to 4700. The top 100 cows averaged just over 3700!

Springing heifers sold from 3000 to 3850.

Top Guernsey 3650 with an overall avg of 2900.

Top Brown Swiss 3700 with an overall avg of 2802.

Market report for Thursday 9-3 at Loyal.

We sold 54 dairy cows with not a lot of test on supreme quality and no herd dispersals. Top cows sold from 2700 to 3400. Second cut cows continue to sell lower with the cull market putting very minimal floor under them. Good usable but plainer quality cows sold 1400 to 2300.

215 heifers sold with top springers being the highlight! Load after load selling from 2800 to 3950. Shortbred heifers sold 2300 to 2750. Open heifers looked like a buyer's market with the majority selling from 2.50 to 3.00 a lb.

Baby calves sold higher than the rest of the week. Beef calves mostly 1100 to 1300, top 1315. Holstein bull calves 850 to 1190. Holstein heifer calves 500 to 700.

Market cows sold lower. Top cows 1.20 to 1.28. Low yielding and poor cows 1.10 and down.
