Today, we made the trip to Abilene to repair a blind hemmer for Men’s Wearhouse. 2.5 hours there, repaired the machine, 2.5 hours back. This is a portable blind hemmer, much like the one that Charla has. They’ve got a commercial blind hemmer, too, but these little machines are nice and quiet.

This is why you need to have your machines serviced. The lint accumulation in this vintage Singer got in the gears and wore the teeth away. Feed dog gears, hook gears, all trashed.

I don’t say this lightly, but monofilament thread might have been invented by the devil. If not, it was totally someone who hated sewing machines. Here’s three yards I pulled out of one today!
