Springtime is a time of shifts.

People are making employment moves and promotions are happening.

Too often, people are placed in leadership positions with little to no leadership experience.

Some have only been exposed to poor leadership, so they unintentionally repeat what they’ve seen. Others were high performers in their role but were never taught how to actually lead people, build teams, or develop others.

And it shows.

They recruit people they don’t have to “train” because those individuals make them look good. But when real leadership is required such as navigating conflict, developing employees, taking accountability, or protecting their team - they struggle.

That struggle often shows up as:
• Micromanaging
• Poor communication
• Avoiding accountability
• Taking credit for team wins
• Throwing others under the bus to protect their own ego

Leadership is not about control.
