🚨πŸ”₯ FIRE WEATHER WARNING β€” GEORGE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI πŸ”₯🚨

The National Weather Service has issued a RED FLAG WARNING for Sunday (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM) impacting George County and surrounding areas due to strong winds and very low humidity.

⚠️ Conditions Expected:
β€’ Northwest winds 15–25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph
β€’ Relative humidity as low as 20–25%
β€’ Dry conditions that allow fires to ignite and spread rapidly

❗ What This Means:
Any fire that starts could quickly become dangerous and difficult to control. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Even small sparks from debris burning, equipment, grills, or vehicles can start a wildfire under these conditions.

βœ… Safety Reminders for the Community:
β€’ Do NOT burn debris or yard waste
β€’ Avoid parking vehicles on dry grass
β€’ Properly dispose of ci******es
β€’ Use caution with grills, fire pits, and equipment that may create sparks
β€’ Report any smoke or fire immediately by calling 911

Our firefighters are prepared, but prevention is the best protection. Please help keep our community safe by avoiding activities that could start a fire during this warning period.

Stay safe, George County.
