Jumping on the Kinda Chic trend.

This is me, building a business in the season of life I'm in right now.
Early mornings to squeeze in work before the kids wake up, ice cream dates in the middle of the afternoon, a network of women who just get it, and clients who are finally making time for the work they love AND bedtime with their kids.

That's what this season looks like and I'm grateful for it 🌸

Sometimes the kitchen counter becomes the office. At 9pm, once the kids are finally settled.

You showed up for them all day, breakfast, camp drop-off, groceries, booking every fall activity before spots fill up, pick-up, dinner, ice cream, watching them run around the neighborhood with their friends until the streetlights came on.

And now that everyone's asleep, you're just now opening your laptop.

I see you, mama. You gave your whole self to them today, and you still have more to give. That's not exhaustion. That's dedication. You've got this.

Some weeks the business gets more of you. Some weeks the kids do. That's not falling behind - that's the balance actually working.

This is the season where "having it all" doesn't mean doing it all, all at once. It means showing up where you're needed most, and trusting that the rest will get its turn.

So if today was more juice boxes than content calendars - that's okay. You didn't miss anything. You just chose right for today. Tomorrow, the business gets its turn again.

This is the season. And it's beautiful.

I was going to post a short clip in stories but this deserves to live in my feed a little longer.

Moments like this remind me why I do what I do and why I love it so much.

I love designing, creating content, and helping promote my clients’ businesses - but witnessing their growth is the most rewarding part of it all.

So many of my clients are moms. Some are balancing full-time jobs while building their businesses from the ground up. And every single one of them pours their heart and soul into what they do.

Running a business while raising kids is no small thing. Add a full-time job into the mix, and it takes an incredible amount of strength, resilience, dedication, and passion to keep showing up day after day.

Jen .iv is one of them and watching her grow and step into her vision has been an honor.

I still remember the butterflies in my stomach when I went to the town hall five years ago to officially register my small business. I was excited, nervous, and ready to see it come to life.

Today, seeing MMK Virtual Solutions in the local newspaper gave me those butterflies all over again. I tell my clients and fellow business owners to celebrate every win, big or small - so I’m practicing what I preach.

I’m taking a purposeful pause to honor the growth, the lessons, and every step of this journey. The messy middle, the quiet moments, the ones no one sees… all of it matters.

And I want to remind you to do the same.
Celebrate it all - the big wins, the small steps, and everything in between.

I still remember my first difficult client.
At the time, I thought I had to make it work… prove myself… say yes no matter what.

But the truth?
It drained me. It blurred my boundaries. It made me question my work - when deep down, I knew something felt off from the start.

That experience taught me something I carry into every decision now:
Not everyone is the right fit - and that’s okay.

You don’t have to say yes to every opportunity to be successful.
You don’t have to override your intuition to be liked.
And you’re allowed to protect your energy, your time, and your business.

Now, I listen closer. I ask more questions. I trust that feeling.
Because the right clients don’t just need you - they align with you. 🤍

And same applies in your personal life.

Good things don’t come from comfort zones… and yesterday, I stepped outside of mine 🤍

I had the honor of being invited as a keynote speaker at a local community event, sharing my story and lessons with a room of 180+ people. It felt deeply humbling.

Truthfully, I never saw myself as a speaker - especially with English not being my first language. For years, I avoided it. I would get nervous, lose my words, and stay safely in the background.

But the personal and professional work I’ve been doing over the years… it’s stretching me in ways I never imagined. And this journey of entrepreneurship has challenged me in the best ways. It’s not always easy - but that’s where the growth lives.

During my talk, I shared a few lessons that have shaped me:

Community matters.
Not just any community - but people who share your energy, your values, who support you and allow you to be fully yourself. And with that, learning to set boundaries to protect your peace.

Trust your intuition.
If you feel that pull in your gut… listen. Your heart often knows before your mind catches up. It may not always make sense right away, but if you follow it, it will guide you exactly where you’re meant to go.

Make space for stillness.
Life is full and fast. We hold so many roles. But even a few quiet moments - on a walk, with your coffee, in a pause - can bring you back to yourself. When you’re grounded, you think clearer, show up better, and feel more present in your life.

Grateful for this experience, for the growth, and for every step that got me here.

Growing up, I never pictured myself as an entrepreneur. I was the kid who loved “playing office” - shuffling papers, tapping away on a pretend keyboard made from an old chocolate box.

When I moved here at 18, I threw myself into small businesses and later corporate America, always feeling like something was quietly missing.

Looking back, I should’ve seen it coming. Both my parents built their own paths. Entrepreneurship has always been in my blood.

Starting this journey has been like slowly picking up pieces of myself I didn’t even know were gone. The days are long, the growth sometimes feels painfully slow compared to everyone else’s highlight reels - but this path is deeply, quietly special.

I’ve grown in ways I never expected, in places I didn’t know needed tending. And that alone makes every step worth it.
