My job now has me leaving several mornings before the sun completely comes up. I have never but the chickens out before the sun was actually up. Okay to let them out in starting light? Other wise they are late getting out some days , 8 to 8:30

I’m dealing with chaos from way too many chicks hatching at once. This year I started with 14 adults (12 hens, 2 roos). Usually, it’s 9 chicks, maybe 10, but now I have so many under 3 months old. It began with Teresa with 12 (9) Lavander and BCM. Then I found Pure Grace Hen House and bought 9 straight-run BCM chicks and 12 Jubilee eggs; the incubator went wonky, and only 4 chicks hatched. I got a new incubator and tested it with a batch of barnyard chicks for my neighbor and me (20 each). Then I took David up on an offer of about 30 eggs (26, I think); there was an assortment of eggs, and I drove up to get a dozen (8) hatched from The Hot Mess Homestead (assorted easter/olive eggers). I forgot about the 2 full grown frizzles, and 4 babies and 6 eggs from Tammy Allen Then My Big Girl disappeared and came back with 9 chicks.Atwoods tempted me into getting a couple of bantams (lost 4 of the 8; they’re being babysat next door since I ran out of room). Then I thought I lost my Polish hen Speedy, but she returned last week with 12 babies, so more barnyards. So I either have 60 or 120 depending on my math. (edited because my screen kept shutting down.) LOL Kindle Crews has helped with the frizzle babies; I ran out of room. LOL Now to just get a shake-down on how many are roosters in all this. LOL poor Donald had no idea that his "let's hatch a couple of our own eggs." Would go this way!! LOL How is your flock growing? Doing Well? On purpose?

The BCM Mafia are over the weather. The nine of them have split up to find grass and shade. It's amazing how much they have grown and changed. They used to be a team. One never went without all going. Now 1 hangs out alone most of the time. 4 are tight, and the last 3 are another group.

No apparent reason. One hen does her own thing, 3 roos and a hen, and 2 hens 1 roo again just hanging out

All right I'm trying to figure it out. I see a lot of people being able to do@ followers at everyone at something to let people know when they post. I can't'. I don't want to sit there and tag everybody that I know, give me some ideas.

I am not sure if I have a hen or roo, thinking roo?

when you are a scattered mind. Things are not put away correctly because of your brain. How do you deal with the 3 hour 20 minute project?

Now I had lightweight wire down at the coop so I did have to find that I have these awesome hooks that I got from Amazon that are perfect for this project, I needed the wire cutters, the electric drill, the post hole pounder and a post. Did I think of all that at one time no no I did not

One trip for the Clippers one clip for the hook one trip to the post hole pounder that says 20 minutes because I was not the last one to use it so it wasn't where I put it. Another trip for the drill..

That said, I think they will appreciate this more since more air flow will happen, than when it was zip tied to house.

My red ant mess yesterday was mentally laying this out and snipping the zip ties so I could set this up today.
