In a Florida freeze, turn off your irrigation system at the controller and the main water supply to prevent pipe damage. Cover the backflow preventer with towels, insulation, or a blanket to stop it from cracking. If a hard freeze is expected, drain your pipes.
Do not run sprinklers during freezing temperatures.
