Clearly a DEFECT! Upon inspecting the water heater I discovered that most (if not all) of the flue gasses were spilling out into the home, an indication that the flue is at least partially (if not fully) plugged. A very hazardous condition. I immediately shut off the gas to the water heater and informed the client and their agent. Before I finished the inspection a plumber arrived with a new water heater and went to work. As I was leaving this is what was in the driveway...... A dumb ass red squirrel.

I saved some lives that day!

Danger: Be very careful when removing price tag fasteners. When cut the pieces tend to sail away and can often be difficult to find. If found by a child or pet they can be ingested, potentially causing injury or death.
