We have come around to designing the RoundLoader for the S/W 686+ and the R***r GP100+. This is currently being modelled. Prototypes for the PS007 Shotgun speedloader revisions and the PL007 PistoLoader are being evaluated. Photos are for the PL007. Note that the cartridges on the removable stripper are mixed 9MM and 40 S/W. The intention is to create five different models to address a variety of cartridges from 17 HMR to the big 45's. This version is to fit the (mid-range) 9's, 40's, and 10mm's. Each size range will not be manufacturer specific.

Oh Yes, We forgot to mention just now that we have designed two new RoundLoaders (in 38 caliber) to fit the 7-shot and 8-shot Ta**us revolvers. We are working on a RoundLoader for the 7-shot (also in 38 caliber) S&W 686+ and the R***r GP100+.
Another development is a modification of our RifleMag speedloader that works on R***r, KelTec, and others using the FN 5.7 x28 double-stack pistol magazine.

Yes, it's been a while.
Our fourth speedloader patent has issued. This one applies to the "Ball and Socket" connections related to our RM (RifleMag) and PS (Pump Shotgun) designs.
We held our fifth Annual Underwater Revolver Match Invitational
We are Prototyping a new PistoLoader for semi-auto pistols
And, we are closing in on a final design for the Pump Shotgun speedloader. This is a 7th generational development (the 6 prior generations were described earlier in the thread) and the 4th revision to the 7th gen latch mechanism. Some photos of the 3rd revision latch are attached.

Coming back from The Great American Outdoor Show (Harrisburg, PA) we identified a few projects to place on the front burner: two new RoundLoaders for 38 caliber 7 and 8-shot revolvers, a variant of the RifleMag to handle the FN 5.7x 28 cartridge in pistol mags, and a smaller 5-shot StripLoader than the SL018-357-5 (J-Frame size). At the same time, work/prototyping/testing continues on a pump shotgun and a new model of the PistoLoader. attached are photos of the PL006 PistoLoader. We're currently detailing the next-generation PL007 PistoLoader.

We're running behind; so, here is a quick update. Earlier posts showed that we are developing a speedloader for Pump Shotguns (the PS series). We have the PS006 working as intended and photos are attached; however, the gen 006 has been abandoned and we are in solid modeling for the PS007 (gen 007). The PS007 should be cheaper, lighter, more ergonomic, and hopefully work even better. In parallel, we continue the development of a new PistoLoader (the PL006). This PistoLoader has many of the same features of the RifleMag loader; but, because pistol magazines must be loaded from the front (feedlips narrower than cartridge diameter) the spacing and angles are key. Like the PL003, we intend that the system is capable of loading 22LR, 25 ACP, 32 ACP, 9mm, 40 S&W, 357 Mag, 44 Mag, 45 ACP, and 50 AE. Currently our focus is on getting the 9mm functioning properly.

With the Shotgun speedloader in the revision process, we are back onto the improvements to the PistoLoader. As we have posted before, design and development is similar to sighting in and spiraling into the bullseye. We are now working on a 6th generation concept that includes elements from the PistoLoader PL001 (first posted in 2019) and the most recent prototype of the PistoLoader PL005.
The PL001 never made it past the solid modeling stage when we realized that it would be too complicated (read expensive) to bring to market. The PL002 was a simplification of the complicated PL001. Just as we simplified the subsequent PL002 to reduce it to its essence and create the PL003 (a thumb-saver currently in production); we are applying the same mindset to the PL001 to create the new generation PL006 with magazine handling enhancements taken from the PL005. After five years, we suppose it's better late than never.

The PumpShotgun (PS) Speedloader evaluations being complete, revisions are into solid modelling now. We can devote time to the PistoLoader 005 revisions now.

The wait is (almost) over! We've received the Pump Shotgun prototype and new PistoLoader parts; and, we are evaluating performance. As we are further along with the Pump Shotgun design, this post will focus on that.
To date, we have only checked Pump Shotgun assembly issues and identified minor modifications for Revision 2. See the photos (2-3/4" shells loaded). Note that shells only clear the ejection port when the handle is at 90 degrees to the magazine body. The handle locks in this position to support the weight of the magazine. This is also the loading position. See the follower extension (like that on a 22 magazine) for depressing the follower during loading. Also note in the close-ups that the follower is articulated and the shell pusher is convertible for being ambidextrous so that the 12 GA shells (1-3/4, 2-3/4, or 3") can be loaded on either side of the magazine.

Work continues on the new PistoLoader prototype: first part evaluations are done, modifications released, awaiting follow-pn evaluation parts.
Work also continues on the Pump Shotgun speedloader: awaiting first evaluation parts.
While waiting/working on those two rather large projects, we pulled two small projects from the back burner. These are QuickCases for our largest-format StripLoader. Currently the only QuickCase for this platform is the telescopic version capable of covering the range from 22LR (10-shot) to the 3" 410 shell. These two new designs fit the large-format StripLoaders up to 44 Magnum cartridge length (1.610") and are not telescopic. The first is a standard pocket-style (similar to the SQC24-357-6) and the other is a belt-clip version (similar to the SQC25-357-6).

Work continues on the Pump Shotgun speedloader. We have moved onto the 6th generation of ideas, model PL006-###, on how to skin this cat (it's not an easy problem). For the uninitiated, problems are solved one issue at a time. Solutions can come through serial development (trial, error, development, repeat) or can appear in a blinding flash of inspiration, wholly formed and perfect. In reality, the latter solution usually transitions into the former process. As we detail the sketches for the 6th generation, a five-day effort to improve on a "latch" resulted in taking a few steps back to select different springs. This forced a revision to part dimensions; which then effected ergonomics.... At the end of each rabbit hole, if a refinement still honors the original design concept, a durable concept might be a winner.

Well, revisions for the PistoLoader PL005 are being solid modeled; so, it's time to get onto the other stalled project: the Pump Shotgun speedloader. The PS005 prototype shown in a recent post has been evaluated, modified, re-evaluated, re-modified etc. Our initial prototypes are jumping-off points for developing concepts. They naturally evolve as the details are explored. The development is iterative that can take a dozen or two dozen tries to become satisfactory. Rarely they can embody dead-end concepts that should have been nixed earlier. The PS005 was an example of the latter. Lessons learned on PS005 have now been applied to PS006, a different concept. More on that as it progresses.
On a separate topic, our patent application for the wing connectors has now been filed. This design element is employed on the RifleMag and the new PistolMag product lines.
