Hello, September! 🍂💡

New month. New clients. New travel. New opportunities to connect with leaders and organizations doing meaningful work.

There is so much happening this fall, and I’m looking forward to all of it.

I love the fresh energy that comes with a new season—the chance to reset, refocus, and step into what’s next with intention.

Here’s to new places, new conversations, continued growth, and an exciting season ahead. 💚

Let’s go, September!

What would happen if you gave your team some of their time back? ⏱️

We're wrapping up this series with four more ways to rethink your meeting culture:

📄 Send information ahead of time and use meetings for discussion + decisions.

☎️ Use the 15-minute rule when a quick conversation could replace a never-ending email chain.

🎯 Never end a meeting without answering: What was decided? Who owns it? When is it due?

🧠 And finally—protect meeting-free work time.

We ask people to think strategically, solve problems, create, prepare, and execute...then fill every available hour with meetings.

Work doesn't happen in the meetings. Work happens after the meetings.

Seven strategies. All practical. All implementable.

The stories we tell ourselves can shape the way we lead. 💡

Self-doubt and imposter syndrome can show up at every level of leadership. Learning to recognize that inner dialogue—and finding the courage to change it—can be transformational.

Thank you, Greg Hiebert, for these incredibly thoughtful words and for sharing a little of your own experience along with them.

Helping leaders find their voice, recognize their value, and lead more authentically is deeply meaningful work. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of that journey. 💚

What could you do with some of those hours currently sitting on your calendar? ⏱️

Let's start getting some of that time back.

3 strategies to try today:

1️⃣ Change your default meeting from 60 minutes to 30.
2️⃣ Define the outcome before you send the invite.
3️⃣ Set a clear scope so one meeting doesn't become five disguised as one.

The goal isn't to squeeze more into less time.

💡 It's to create **more focused, intentional meetings** that actually move the work forward—and free leaders to spend more time doing the work that matters.

Which one are you trying first?

Part 2 of the Better Meetings series. Stay tuned for the next strategies.

Not every part of leadership happens in the boardroom. ☕💡

Sometimes it looks like a quiet corner, a cup of coffee, and the space to think.

Behind every training, coaching conversation, keynote, and strategy session is time spent reflecting, preparing, learning, and asking better questions.

Because doing the work that matters often requires making room to think about the work that matters.

Today’s office? I’ll take it. ☕💻

Meetings aren't the problem. Bad meetings are. 💡
🎯 Part 1:Why it may be time to rethink the 60-minute meeting.

Why does every meeting automatically get an hour?

When we give ourselves 60 minutes, we tend to fill 60 minutes—even when the work doesn't require it.

The result? Scope creep, analysis paralysis, meeting fatigue, multitasking, and sometimes - less clarity instead of more.

The goal isn't just shorter meetings.

It's better meetings that create focus, decisions, and progress.

Next, I'll share practical strategies to help you get meetings down to **30 minutes or less—without sacrificing what matters.**

Busy doesn't always mean effective.

Neither does being needed every minute of the day.

Many leaders measure success by how many meetings they attended, how many emails they answered, or how many fires they put out.

But high-performing leaders ask different questions:

✔️ Did my team become more capable today?

✔️ Did I create clarity?

✔️ Did I strengthen trust?

✔️ Did I help someone grow?

Leadership isn't about being indispensable.

It's about building a team that can succeed because of your leadership—not only in your presence.

💬 Today's challenge: Ask yourself, "What did my team learn today that makes them less dependent on me tomorrow?"

There's nothing more meaningful than hearing how your work has impacted someone else's leadership journey.

Thank you, Jen Rowland, for your kind words and your trust. It has been a privilege to walk alongside you as you continue investing in leaders and helping others grow.

Leadership isn't about having all the answers. It's about continually learning, growing, and helping others discover what's possible within themselves.

I'm grateful to be part of that journey.

💚 Thank you for sharing your experience.

The best leaders don't just solve today's problems.

They use today's challenges to build tomorrow's leaders.

Anyone can fix an issue.

But culture-building leaders ask different questions:

✔️ Who can grow from this?
✔️ What capability can I develop?
✔️ How can this challenge strengthen my team?

Instead of making every decision, they develop decision-makers.

Instead of resolving every conflict, they teach people how to navigate conflict themselves.

That's how high-performing cultures become sustainable—not because leaders do more, but because they intentionally develop others.

💬 Leadership Challenge: The next time a problem lands on your desk, ask yourself, "How can I use this moment to build capability instead of simply solving the problem?"
