🚨πŸ”₯ ELEVATED FIRE DANGER TODAY! 🌾🚜

With harvest in full swing, take extra precautions to prevent field fires!

βœ… Check bearings to ensure they are properly greased and not failing.
βœ… Watch for sparks, smoke, and built-up crop residue.
βœ… Check your fire extinguishers β€” do you have one, and is it fully charged?

Bearings and built-up crop residue are common causes of sparks that can start field fires. A few extra minutes of prevention can save equipment, crops, and property!

Stay alert, stay safe, and have a safe harvest! πŸš’πŸŒΎ

πŸš’πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’ Little Visitors, Big Lessons in Fire Safety! πŸ”₯❀️

The Lynd Fire Department was buzzing with excitement over the last two days as students from Lynd School, preschool through 4th grade, stopped by for a special visit! The kids got to meet our firefighters, check out the fire trucks, and learn important fire safety tips. πŸš’πŸ§‘β€πŸš’

πŸŽ¨πŸ–οΈ Fire Safety Coloring Contest Winners! πŸ–οΈπŸŽ¨

Students in kindergarten through 4th grade also participated in our fire safety coloring contest, and the winners have been announced! πŸŽ‰ One winner from each grade will receive a gift card. Congratulations to our winners, and great job to everyone who participated! ❀️

A big thank-you to Lynd School for making these visits possible. We loved welcoming these young learners and helping spread the word about fire safety in our community!

Charge large items like e-bikes, scooters, and power tools outside when possible. Do not block exits when charging. These batteries store more energy, and fires can grow quickly if they fail.

Today, the Lynd Fire Department came together one final time to honor Firefighter Kenny DeBaere. β€οΈπŸš’

We brought all of our trucks to stand in recognition of a man who dedicated so many years of his life to serving the Lynd Fire Department and our community.

Kenny was a firefighter, a leader, an Assistant Chief, a Relief Association Treasurer, a friend, and a brother. His years of service left a lasting mark on our department, and today we were honored to pay tribute to him and the legacy he leaves behind.

As we said our final goodbye, we were reminded that the bonds formed within the fire service go far beyond the firehouse. Once a firefighter, always a firefighter.

Rest easy, Kenny. Your watch is over. We’ll take it from here. β€οΈπŸ–€πŸš’

Our deepest condolences continue to go out to Kenny’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Gone from our sight, but never forgotten.

Stop using your device right away if the battery smells strange, is warm to the touch, makes popping noises, changes in shape or color, or if you see smoke. If it is safe, move the device away from anything that can catch fire. A damaged battery can overheat and start a fire.

Happy Independence Day from the Lynd Fire Department!

We hope everyone has a fun, safe, and memorable Fourth of July filled with family, friends, good food, and fireworks. Celebrate responsibly, keep a hose or bucket of water nearby, and rememberβ€”we'd rather see your fireworks lighting up the sky than our trucks lighting up your driveway!
