Here is how I know an organization needs fractional support.

Everybody is busy. Not productive-busy — the kind where nothing has room to be thought about.

The executive director is somehow also running marketing.

You have good people executing, and no one setting the direction they are executing toward.

You need the expertise. You cannot carry the salary.

Fractional means you hire the judgment, not the headcount. Someone sits at your leadership table on a defined cadence, makes the calls, and leaves your team with a direction instead of a deck.

You learn. You try. Something doesn’t work. You adjust. You try again. And eventually, you look back and realize how much you’ve built.
