I’m working upstream — where events are designed before ex*****on takes over, and where early decisions shape perception, leadership, and long-term impact.

I’m spending my time in planning, structure, and asking better questions early, so the work carries weight well beyond the moment itself.

That’s the direction the work — and the business — is moving this year.

Somewhere along the way, I realized the work I want to stay close to isn’t the loud or fast kind. It’s the kind built with care, where people are willing to slow down enough to notice what’s actually happening. I’m drawn to conversations that leave room for uncertainty, where thinking out loud is part of the process and clarity comes from paying attention, not rushing to conclusions. That’s the kind of work I try to be around. The kind that feels steady, considered, and worth investing time in.

Enjoyed my immersive experience with Behind the Scenes adventure at the Innovative Lab in Bethesda, MD. Being in the Room 27, where we…..wouldn’t you want to know! The vistit to Floor 57 was indeed a vision! Helped me to fall in love with the brand all over again! Finishing the day with Planner/Producer pain points with immediate discussion with Marriott staff was extremely fun and insightful. I must say the best part was the ride back to the airport - We are indeed planners because we made it work! Geeked to connect with such a dope group of ! Experiences like this always make me fall in love all over again with what I do!

The origin! This event, 1995 Fall NSBE Region II conference started it all! Shout the NCAT NSBE Chapter #1213. Luckily, I have this picture to capture the moment. I was simply volunteering because I wanted to learn about being an Black Profesional Engineer, but life had a different plan! From the picture, it looks like I was "leading" the registration activity...ha! Who knew? A simple task grew to into my purpose!

I have a song for everything. Whether I make it up or steal it from the airwaves, I relate it to a situation/memory. During the holidays, my favorite holiday memory is about my excitement and is tied to a song!

One evening, my sister and I were driving home from the mall. We pulled into the garage and Boyz II Men's "Let it Snow" came on the radio. So in love with the song, I wanted to rush inside to hear it on the stereo. Here's the catch, it was 20 something degrees and icy in Ohio. Get the picture? I was rushing to the door, suddenly, my legs began doing the "Super Mario Brothers" Luigi shuffle and then, I was laying on the ice. Stunned for a moment, then my sister and I began laughing hysterically. To this day, whenever we hear that song, we talk and laugh because my excitement kept me from remembering you shouldn't run on ice!

Many of your employees have fond memories like mine during this season. Some of them funny, some sad and some of them just pull at your heartstrings. Allow them the opportunity to share those memories as you strive to build a culture that celebrates their uniqueness and humanity!
