Little Inventors Final Update! Jaxon sees his invention for the first time...

What a great story...watch to the end. 😃

So far, Macomb County, Michigan is the ONLY county in the United States that participates in Little Inventors, now in its 6th year.

And PTI was the first company to commit to this program; where we volunteer time and materials to bring these ideas to life!

Every year has a different theme. This year, students were challenged to invent something - inspired by an animal OR designed to help an animal!

Approximately 2,400 students across 8 school districts, submitted their imaginative invention idea. 14 were chosen. PTI's industrial designer, Steve Elliot, spent time with Jaxon, a 4th grader from Romeo school district, to plan and build his invention: the Suction Saver!

A ceremony with family and friends was held on May 28th where his invention was finally revealed.

When will we see this wonderful program expand? 😉

At PTI, we use RJG cavity pressure transducer technology to monitor the molding process from inside the mold, where part quality is truly formed...By capturing real-time pressure data during each cycle, we are able to better understand process variation, improve repeatability, and respond quickly when a process begins to drift.

Little Inventors Update! Our Industrial Designer, Steve, paid a visit to Jaxon's school, to get some measurements for his invention, the Suction Saver suit.

Now that Steve has everything he needs, he has begun work on cutting and sewing the custom suit. This will be revealed to Jaxson and his family on Thursday, May 29th.

Jaxson and his classmates are super excited to see the suit become a reality. At the reveal, Jaxson will be able to try his invention on and take it home to keep.

Last week, Team PTI kicked off the Little Inventors program for 2026! 😊

2400 Fourth grade students across 8 school districts were challenged to invent something inspired by an animal or designed to help an animal. 400 ideas were submitted but only a handful were chosen.

Our talented industrial designer, Steve chose the Suction Saver to bring to life. Steve and the 4th grade inventor, Jaxon, met last week to discuss details. Materials have been acquired and drawings have been started.

It's worth noting that at the Macomb Region STEM Quarterly Feedback discussion earlier this year, it was determined that the Macomb region’s success is attributed to the depth of its partnerships and a unique model for sustainability.
