Good evening !
So sorry for the late post about this, but I have been very busy and wanted to take the time to thank everybody properly. I didn’t want to just put out a generic thank you post. When the effort was far from generic. I just wanna thank everyone that donated either their time monetarily or in any other way to the project that I worked on a few weekends ago regarding an elderly couple who was going to lose their home. I wanna say thank you you to Sally Vigezzi for helping me from the beginning to get a hold of different organizations and people for assistance. I also wanna thank her for collecting donations and for running me around to pick up supplies. This woman definitely puts her all into her position and I just wanted to give a huge shout out to her first. Secondly, a huge shout out to Scott Collins for donating the biggest dumpster available. Also, for bringing an excavator to crush down the garbage so we could keep filling it. Also for dropping off a multitude of supplies, including canopies, fans, gatorade, and ponchos. Considering the extreme heat, it was all so very appreciated! I want to thank Karen Morgan for taking her time out to help with the cleaning. I also want to thank Misty Smith for the help with cleaning and keeping everybody upbeat! Tammy Smith also assisted with the cleaning and I was so grateful! The Mormon church also sent a few missionaries that worked so hard and we’re not afraid of working this sort of job despite being young kids! They also reached out to me afterwards and offered their services if I ever came into anything like this again. I also want to thank the psychology department and psi chi club for their monetary donations. I want to thank Faith from meals on wheels and the YMCA senior center for bringing this to our attention and just being very loving to the couple while also for keeping them safe and happy! I want to thank Genesis Gardens for all that they donated and for making sure that they had a place to go. Also, huge shout out to the health department for all of your donations and empathy! We really are so lucky to have such wonderful organizations in Macomb.
I also want to give a huge shout out to Hy-Vee for the wonderful donuts that they donated for breakfast! And a huge thanks to bold brew for the delicious caffeine to keep us going!! Also a Huge thanks to Larry A’s pizza for the pizzas for lunch!Needless to say everyone was so happy it was Larry's pizza!
Big thanks to Jimmy John's for some delicious sandwiches as well!
All in all, it was an experience and wonderful to see a bunch of people come together to make a situation way better than it was when we got there. Things didn’t work out the way we planned, but they did work out.! and I know we can all sleep better at night, knowing the conditions that they are in now. Thank you all so very much from the bottom of my heart. ❤️
