Here’s to new friends, great teachers, big accomplishments, lots of memories, and an incredible year ahead!

The evolution of school orientation is really something. 😂

🌈 Kindergarten Orientation:
“WE GET TO GO SEE MY SCHOOL?!” 🤩
Backpack ready. Huge smile. Excited to meet the teacher. Wants a picture with EVERYTHING.
“Mom, take another one!”

😎 6th Grade / Middle School Orientation:
“Why do we have to go?”
“I know where school is.”
“Do NOT take my picture.”
“Can I just meet my friends there?” 🙄

Same milestone. Same proud parents.
VERY different energy. 😂

This morning we got to set up signs for both ends of the orientation spectrum — from little ones who can’t wait to walk through those doors to middle schoolers who suddenly need their parents to pretend they’ve never met.

Kindergarten: “LOOK! THAT’S MY SCHOOL!” 🥹
Sixth grade: “Mom… please.” 😑

And somehow, it only takes six years to get there. 😂❤️

🎶 IT’S MIDDLE SCHOOL ORIENTATION DAY! 🎶

The halls are open, so are the doors…
Haven’t seen this many nervous parents before. 😂

New lockers, new teachers, schedules in hand…
Trying to figure out where the heck everything is planned.

There’ll be actual real live middle schoolers…
It’ll be totally strange. 😳

But wow, am I so ready for this change!

🎶 ’Cause for the first time in forever…
They’ll be changing classes on their own.
For the first time in forever…
We’ll pretend they won’t forget their Chromebook at home. 😂

Don’t know if they’re excited or gassy…
But somewhere in that building is their next class… 🗺️

It’s Middle School Orientation Day! 🎒📚🔐

May the lockers open on the first try,
may they find all their classrooms,
and may no parent embarrass their child within the first 10 minutes.

(That last one is unlikely.) 😂
