"Don't worry, bro, you're totally dialed in for the weekend! 🎯🎯 🤣

Look, we love the enthusiasm, but if your 20-yard target looks like a game of pickup-sticks, it might be time to save our number. 😀

When the shot doesn't go quite as planned this bow season, skip the endless grid searching in the dark.

Call Back 40 Drone Worx instead. Our thermal drones find what your eyes can't.

SCW 2026 contest!!! Some awesome prizes.

Its here folks!
Archery begins tomorrow🎯
Don’t climb up in that stand if you haven’t been up in it so since last season, and always wear a lifeline and harness.

We may get some much-needed rain this weekend, hopefully that won’t keep too many people out of the woods and you can prepare accordingly today!

Make sure you include your weapon in the picture during this Early archery contest🎯

Got a call from the Stutts family on Sunday, and I’m so glad they reached out when they did. This situation could have easily turned out very differently—the buck was actually still alive when the drone located him. If they had continued tracking on foot, they definitely would have bumped and pushed him further out.
It’s a great youth buck! While he might not be a total monster like the one she harvested last season, bucks of that caliber are rare, and this is still an awesome trophy and a successful recovery.

Proud to support the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) Wheelin’ Sportsmen event right here in Culpeper on Saturday! 🦃🦌

This annual event brings together some incredible hunters and a massive team of volunteers on a beautiful local farm. Everyone steps up to help in their own way, and Back 40 Drone Worx was honored to be part of the crew again this year.

My primary mission was clear: utilize thermal drone technology to ensure no deer went missing. As you can see in the video, we don’t let a little weather slow us down. We were flying tight grids in the pitch black during a full-blown Nor'easter—proving that when you run the best gear, you can deliver results in the worst conditions. 🛠️💨

From the skies to rolling up our sleeves on the ground for deer skinning and processing, it was a true team effort from start to finish.

Huge thanks to the NWTF, the landowners, the volunteers, and most importantly, the hunters who came out and made it a memorable weekend. See you all next year! Special thanks to Randy Hovey for leading the hunt and Robin Clark of the Virginia Wheelin' Sportsmen.

You can reach us at 703-887-2309 or [email protected] if you need any recovery or deer herd analysis.

Youth season kicks off this weekend! 🏹🎯

Here’s a look back at a fantastic buck we found for a youth hunter last season. If you run into a tough track or need help recovering your deer this weekend, give Back 40 Drone Worx a shout.

Good luck to all the young hunters heading out!

Look at this wide load! 🦌 He’s going to need a special wide-load permit just to walk down Interstate in Virginia 🤣. Absolute unit!

VDOT might need to put up a temporary warning sign for this one. 🚧 Real-life wide load spotted! Safe to say he’s got plenty of room on the highway, but he might have some trouble squeezing through the thickets this season. 🦌 😁

With summer scouting winding down, it’s almost time to switch gears into recovery mode before starting our late fall and winter deer herd analysis. 🦌✨

Deer herd analysis spots are limited! Proper herd analysis is completely weather-dependent, and we only have but so many cloudy days to work with.

Check out this buck!!! Treating this tree like it owed him money 🤣

Caught this buck absolutely handling business and taking it out on a tree yesterday while flying a deer inventory mission for a client. Whatever that tree did, it clearly crossed the line.

If you need precise wildlife inventory data on your property (or just want to see what your local deer are fighting about), hit us up! 🦌
