I wanted to personally invite you to participate in two exciting Madison events this weekend—and we’re offering FREE vendor space:

Next Level Music Fest on Saturday, August 2 at the Labor Temple grounds (1602 S Park St.). Expect live music, comedy, a 5K fun run, health workshops, food trucks, and retail vendors. It’s a great chance to share your products with a lively, diverse crowd.

Badger Rock Community Market on Sunday afternoon at the Badger Rock Neighborhood Center (517 E Badger Rd). This bi‑weekly market features local vendors, fresh produce, workshops, and family-friendly activities. It’s a great way to support and engage with the South Madison community.

Tonight is the Urban Triage's Black Brilliance Gala: A Celebration of Our Unsung Heroes & I am looking forward to a phenomenally good time!!

I am already filled with gratitude and love. I am so proud to be nominated by my community.

I deeply feel that the best measure of your character and efforts is when others notice and affirm them without prompting...(like when ur name randomly comes up and people say things about you that match the goals & vision you have for yourself)

When Sehade Carter called me to tell me I had been nominated what really touched me most was when she said they received multiple nominations for me and they all said such beautiful things...that is the best feeling y'all!

My passion for this work has never been about awards or perceptions...real talk most y'all know I actually really don't like being center stage and struggle with compliments..I prefer staying low key playing the background (u get more done that way lbvs)

But I would be lying if I said it doesn't feel amazing to be acknowledged and celebrated a bit ❤️

Now all this glam girl stuff getting ready for tonight...chile...I am already over it & I still got 1 more appointment at Vernee Nycole House of Beauty today...whewwweee ion know how some of y'all fancy selves do this on a regular 👀😭

But for Brandi & the crew I'll tough it out 😭🤣🤣🤣

I can't wait to see all the Beautiful BLACK BRILLIANCE shine tonight!!!

To believe with all our hearts in our people and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.

Lots of us believe in the RIGHTEOUSNESS

This year I encourage you to try out believing in THE VICTORY....

Just a few years ago
Whenever I would TALK about I am now DOING
folks around me would say things like
"I hear wha'chur saying & it sounds good... BUT Black people ain't/wont..."

Everything that followed those statements was rooted in centuries of trauma, oppression & OUR people doing what they believed they needed to do to SURVIVE --- and there was TRUTH in the statements

BUT I kept the FAITH that I would talk to the right people & they would not just see my vision..but they would ADD to it..
