Friends, I hope you are all doing well and keeping safe. There is no doubt being isolated has its challenges but we are in this together and I for one am happy to do my part in keeping all of you and my family healthy and safe.
One thing I have really enjoyed over the past couple of weeks is seeing how everyone has come together to offer their resources and talent. As most of you know, I was a fashion designer, living and working in NYC for many years prior to moving to Madison. It is heartbreaking to watch what is happening to the people of New York and the many apparel companies that this catastrophe will affect.
I was inspired by many of my designer friends in the industry who are reaching out and utilizing their skills and talent to help create much needed PPE. (Personal Protective Equipment)
In the spirit of reaching out and helping others, I have been making my own masks and giving them away to any parents, grandparents, flight attendants and individuals with a compromised immune system, and although my masks are not N95 quality, I have been doing alot of research and have created a design which incorporates alot of the necessary protective components. Plus, my designs are super-cute! It has been rewarding and wonderful to be able help!
In order for me to continue this program and be able to give back, I have created a BUY A MASK, GIVE A MASK program on my ETSY shop. The proceeds I receive from each mask sold will go directly to materials needed to make donated masks.You can read more about my masks on the attached link.
