Hello All.
9 / 11 is tomorrow.
We can focus on the loss or remember how, as Americans, we rose to be our best.
I remember Bush 2 asking us to go about our normal lives / activities.
The Capital City Club had scheduled a wine tasting that night and DID NOT CANCEL.
We went. If you knew Richard, you knew he would not live in fear.
Take a look at this video and remember how great our USA Citizens were!

Hello All.
For every Army Leadership Graduate at any level, you will remember that Richard played Toby Keith's music in every course.
Richard greatly respected that Toby often funded his tours to the less than popular places but places American Warfighters served.
I bet they are both together today ... 2 great Americans that served in different ways yet truly served.
Remember RED Shirt Friday and take your beverage in a red Solo cup.
Love, Vicky

Happy Birthday, Army.
What is the name of the Army Song? The Army Song!
It was the last piece of music at Richard's Funeral Mass.

Richard Scherberger will have a tracheotomy on Wednesday (at approximately 1330hrs) followed by insertion of a feeding tube for better nutrition.

These two procedures will begin the steps for Richard's full recovery and quality of life. Simply put, he cannot sustain life on a breathing tube due to the amount of pain medication and sedation required.

Again, I ask for your continue prayers for a miracle to restore his complete health. Please pray for his Surgeons and Medical Team.

We have a long road ahead of us and one that I welcome with open arms because Richard will be on his way to full recovery and cancer with its "tag-a-longs" behind him.

Thank you for your cards, calls, and emails. I read everything to Richard.

Love, Vicky

Remember?

25 years ago this afternoon, 33-year-old Gary Gordon (left) and 35-year-old Randy Shughart (right), both members of the Army's 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment Delta, were providing air cover for Rangers in Operation Gothic Serpent in Mogadishu when a fellow Blackhawk helicopter was shot down. Gordon requested to be landed at the crash site to provide cover for the crew, but was denied permission. Seeing the hostile Somali crowds converging on the downed Blackhawk, he pressed his request until finally granted permission. Gordon and Shughart, armed each with only his own rifle and pistol, were dropped off at the crash site, and found pilot Michael Durant alive. There they formed a perimeter around him hoping for rescue that never came. Both men exhausted their ammunition and were killed saving Durant, who was taken alive as prisoner. Both men were posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, the first ones awarded for action since Vietnam. Today we honor their memory!

Friday will be nineteenth anniversary of 9 11.
Much of today's news focuses on anger in our Country.
Remember how on 9 11 we were all Americans and helped each other.
We post the Boat Rescue every year.

YOU ARE SUCH A GIRL SCOUT! How many times have I heard that line from Richard when he asks if we have “X”?  Probably a jillion times. Richard says this line with respect and a level of awe. I guess the motto, “Be Prepared” really stuck with me.  It also helped being Bill and Marie Hickerso...

The Time I Have … WOOHOO The RFPs appearing on e-Buy and other Federal Contract Sites are somewhat limited these days.  So, I am not spending time responding to market research or proposals. The time I have discovered … time for all those projects that “one day” I will get around to.  One ...
