Back in 1998 I set out to develop a manufacturing process to make a reasonably authentic reproduction of wedge-riveted maille. I sent the tooling and instructions to a supplier in India and until 2007 I sold imported maille made to my specifications. As expected, the process became widely copied by other Indian armourers and now is a commodity item available from a variety of sources. All of the w
edge-riveted maille commercially available today traces its roots back to the tools and instructions I mailed off all those years ago. Over the years I have given presentations and demonstrations on maille at various venues around the world, including Arms and Armour Study Days at the Wallace Collection in London, England, and at the Conference for the Restoration and Conservation of Arms and Armour in Valletta, Malta. This page will document the progress of items I am working on and list things for sale from time to time.
