As the 2026 harvest begins to unfold, the vineyard takes on a new rhythm. The hum of tractors through the vines, warm afternoons on the patio, and a bottle of Petit Manseng shared over Chef Tim Moore's seasonal menu.

These are the moments we look forward to all year. 🍷

We're thrilled to announce Lettie Teague as the inaugural Early Mountain Vineyards Wine Writer Fellow.

Recognizing the important role thoughtful journalism plays in helping consumers better understand wine, we launched the Early Mountain Vineyards Wine Writer Fellowship as an investment in the future of the Virginia wine industry. The response was extraordinary, drawing 70 applicants from 17 states seeking meaningful access to vineyards, harvest, winemaking, and the people moving our region forward.

For more than three decades, Lettie has been one of America's most respected voices in wine journalism, helping readers understand wine with intelligence, humor, and perspective. During her Fellowship, she'll spend five days immersed in harvest at Early Mountain, working alongside our winemaking and vineyard teams while gaining firsthand experience with the countless decisions that shape a vintage.

To everyone who applied, thank you. We were inspired by the caliber of applicants and look forward to continuing relationships through future educational opportunities, winery visits, media events, and wine experiences designed to deepen understanding of Virginia wine.

Please join us in congratulating Lettie—we can't wait to welcome her to Virginia this fall.

If you know, you know. 🍅🍷✨️

Summer Supper Somm has become one of the most anticipated dinners of the year at Early Mountain, and we're thrilled to bring it back for a second season.

On Saturday, July 11, Executive Chef Tim Moore will transform one of summer's most beloved ingredients—the heirloom tomato—into an unforgettable five-course experience paired with Early Mountain wines.

Expect the unexpected. Chef Tim's approach is thoughtful, imaginative, and deeply rooted in the season. From vibrant savory dishes to playful creations, each course explores a different expression of the tomato.

Throughout the evening, Dave and Barbara of Village Garden RVA will share the story behind the exceptional tomatoes featured on each plate, offering a deeper connection to the people and practices that make this dinner possible.

Set among the vines at the height of summer, this intimate gathering celebrates great food, great wine, and the fleeting flavors that make this season so special.

We hope you will join us! Saturday, July 11 | 6:00PM

Seats are limited and this event is expected to sell out quick!
