Exciting things happening at the CWA...we are renovating our new facility and getting ready to get set up for day-to-day operations! We will have our library unpacked, classroom and lab space set up, web site up, etc. We are looking to be fully functional by July! Look for some regular updates now as the ball is really starting to roll!

If you are looking for something to do on Saturday, the Wisconsin Archeological Society is going to be on-site at beautiful Roche-a-Cri State Park in Friendship, Wisconsin to answer your questions about the rock art that is in the park. Roche-a-Cri is one of the very few places in Wisconsin where the public can see the messages that people of the past have left behind. There are petroglyphs (images carved into the rock) and pictographs (images that are painted on the rock) here. We encourage you to talk to Cindi Styles and to see if you can find the pictographs that are present on the rock art panel. The event runs from 10 am to 2 pm, is free to the public (you do need a Wisconsin State Park sticker that can be purchased on-site) and there will be activities for kids and adults. If that wasn't enough, there will also be cake to celebrate the event as well as Smokey the Bear's 80th Anniversary! Come for the education and beauty of the park, stay for the cake!
