This morning I'll be making cranberry juice from the fresh berries I picked up in Wisconsin. I'll be picking up more next week so I can make several more quarts. Sweetened with honey. It'll be ready in 6 weeks, just in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Picked fresh tomatos and basil from the garden. Added garlic, olive oil and my favorite cheese, roasted it for 45 minutes then used the immersion blender on them. Cooked sausage and added it. Absolutely delicious over pasta or your choice of noodles!

I'm trying something new this year, it's called Christmas Spice Extract. It'll be done in about a month. You use it in place of vanilla extract in recipes. It has all the amazing Christmas spices- vanilla, orange, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, nutmeg, cardamom. I'm looking forward to trying it!

Had a busy weekend at our daughter's,, but I did get a little time to pick some spruce tips. I'm excited to see how spruce tip jelly and spruce tip cookies turn out. They are both things I'd found in Alaska and I know they won't be as amazing, but if I can get close, it's nice to recreate flavors that bring amazing memories

After boiling the spruce tips, they're supposed to steep for at least 12 hours.. so now we wait.
