HVAC businesses often struggle to keep their employees happy, but not every business can afford a $1000 gift for every staff member. The good news is, there are other ways to improve job satisfaction.
1) Invest in a tool that matches the closest available technicians with every job, so employees don’t have to drive as far and so no one has to do late nights to finish their work load. (You’ll save money on overtime too.)
2) Give everyone a paid day off on their birthday. A small expense for quite a bit of good will.
3) Send handwritten notes to your employees every once in a while thanking them for their efforts. Make these notes specific. For example, if a customer leaves good feedback about one of your technicians, send them a note thanking them for providing that customer with a great service and let them know what it means to you. Most people like to know they’re appreciated and these specifics help staff realise that you truly do appreciate their efforts.
