It was a privilege to step back in time with the Commemorative Air Force and hear the human stories behind more than a century of American aviation.
For our latest Malibu West feature, we spent the day surrounded by aircraft and artifacts spanning WWI to the present, but what stands out the most are the stories of the people behind them.
One of the highlights was getting an up-close look at their B-17 Flying Fortress and learning about the crews who flew these aircraft during WWII.
In a fascinating connection between history and storytelling, this very B-17 was also used to create the aircraft sound effects for Apple TV’s limited series ‘Masters of the Air.’
We’re grateful to the incredible volunteers and team at the museum who dedicate their time to keeping these aircraft (and the stories they carry) alive for the next generation.
Excited to share more from this project soon!
