Coffered ceilings deserve a finish that shows off all the detail.

Coffered ceilings have a lot of corners, edges, recessed areas, and architectural details. That makes getting a consistent finish with a brush and roller much more difficult.

For these types of ceilings, we prefer spraying when the project and environment allow for it.

Spraying helps us achieve a more uniform finish and can get into the detailed areas without leaving roller texture or excessive brush marks.

Surfactant leaching is something we pay attention to in bathrooms because of the constant moisture and humidity.

It happens when ingredients from the paint rise to the surface before the coating has fully cured.

You may notice brownish or yellowish streaks, shiny areas, or a sticky-looking residue, especially in bathrooms with high humidity.

The important thing is not to simply paint over it and hope it goes away.

The surface needs to be properly cleaned and allowed to dry before determining the best way to address the issue.

Proper ventilation and allowing the paint enough time to cure can also help prevent the problem.
