TO all the parents in the trenches of parenthood. We see you. We are with you.

As a counselor you would think my children would be all-stars at labeling their emotions and calming down… I’m here to tell you that’s not the case.

Our oldest is very strong willed and although I know that she will be able to use this for many years to come when it comes to the current parent/child dynamics we have experienced some ”turbulence.”

For the mothers and fathers out there with strong willed children you understand that they want to be able to “do it themselves at all cost.” We have had to explain to her that she can’t control her anger on her own.

This plan is created to meet her individual needs but was influenced by WholeHearted School Counseling

We realized today that because she doesn’t see a lot of conflict in the home, that the only disagreements are her and us, so she is feeling like it’s, “just her.”
When in reality we all get angry we just use ways to calm down more frequently.
But I can see how she would feel like it’s all her fault.

I got her permission to share her plan, because she wanted to help others.
