Here’s how to stay in the clear with original content

- Use plagiarism checkers, such as Grammarly, Copyscape, and Originality.ai. They can flag copy that’s too close to existing material.

- Cite your sources. Link back to the original author or article when quoting, summarizing, or referencing data.

- Don’t trust AI for facts. It can spurt out fake stats, sources, and even product names.

- Be honest with yourself. If a sentence sounds familiar, dig a little deeper. If you’re not sure it’s your original content, it’s probably not.

Let’s be real, your audience can tell when you’re faking it (and so can Google). Learn more in our new post! https://savoirfaire-us.com/blog/original-content-builds-trust/

Good original content comes from curiosity, research, and inspiration. However, the line between inspiration and imitation with AI gets thinner.

Be helpful and resourceful with your blog posts

When you feel stuck for blog post ideas, look for ways to answer questions either from your customers and prospects and from what people ask about on search engines. Think about the questions your customers and prospects ask. Answer those questions on your blog.

Be patient and persistent. Read a lot of other blogs and articles related to your industry. You never know what might spark an idea. Whenever you get ideas, write them down. You might not be ready for exploring them deeper at the moment but at least you’ll have an idea when you sit down and write.

Content remains king, but sometimes even the best king needs to trim the excess. Our blog post explores why pruning website content should be a priority. Content is king, so why would you try pruning website content? Even if content is accurate, it may not need a forever home on your site.

At Savoir Faire, we’ve seen the power of long-form content in action. By expanding and optimizing existing blog posts, we’ve helped clients improve search rankings, increase traffic, and drive engagement. One client’s updated content page became a top-10 performer on their site, with nearly a quarter of visitors heading to the contact page next.

The key? A strategic approach. Thoughtfully structured, well-optimized content signals expertise to search engines and provides real value to readers.

If you have existing content that could be working harder for you, let’s talk about turning it into a high-performing asset. Learn more in our comprehensive blog post:

Long-form content can perform very well as a single website page. This post examines two ways to achieve that.

December 3 is National Green Bean Casserole Day.

We're flashing back to the Savoir Faire team's debate over the much-loved (or much-hated) dish.

Ben: I’ve never really been a fan of green bean casserole. I was introduced to it as an adult–never as a child–and it just doesn’t work for me. I love green beans, but not all the extra stuff that people put into it.

Janna: On the topic of green bean casserole, it’s one of my faves, if done well. Otherwise, it can be one of the worst dishes.

Corey: Describe "done well."

Janna: Sometimes the sauce is lumpy and too much, or the French fried onions were put on too early and got soggy. I prefer fresh green beans, not canned. If it’s overly salty or mushy, it’s no good. But, if the green beans aren’t cooked enough, I don’t like it. There’s an art to the green bean casserole to make it holiday-worthy.

Corey: I like that–the art of green bean casserole. I agree with fresh beans and all you mention. I have experimented with it, changing up the sauce. Once, even tried it with cheese. I love cheese but it did not pair well.

Janna: Are you a yay or nay on including mushrooms?

Corey: When I was a kid, I would say, “Yuck,” but now, yes. Once I did it with homemade cream of mushroom soup as the sauce with big ol’ chunks of ’shrooms.

Transforming an Email Strategy to Boost Engagement

One client came to Savoir Faire with a challenge: while they had a sizable email subscriber list, engagement was steadily declining. Bounce rates were climbing, and unsubscribe rates were concerning. The list was suffering from decay, meaning fewer subscribers were active, and emails were increasingly failing to reach their intended audience.

To turn this around, we took a data-driven approach:
- Performance Review: We analyzed email metrics, including delivery, open, click, and unsubscribe rates.
- Content and Scheduling Adjustments: By refining messaging, adjusting design elements, and optimizing send schedules, we focused on delivering value and increasing relevance to the audience.
- Retention Strategies: We implemented strategies to minimize bounces and unsubscribes while encouraging greater interaction.

The results? Improvements across the board: delivery rates, open rates, and click rates rose, while bounces and unsubscribes decreased.

Every email is an opportunity to strengthen relationships. By focusing on value and continuous improvement, you can turn even a decaying list into a thriving one. Learn more about our email marketing strategies.

Reach the right audience at the right time! We offer email marketing for small business services to help you connect with your audience and increase sales.

Authenticity in Content Creation is Essential

When a brand consistently delivers authentic messages, it creates a deeper connection with its audience. Consumers are smart. They can sniff out icky content faster than you can say “clickbait.”

Authenticity, on the other hand, shows that your company values transparency and integrity, which are key ingredients for fostering customer loyalty and advocacy. Being authentic is the foundation for building a trustworthy brand in a crowded marketplace. Learn more.

Authenticity in content marketing builds trust and credibility, the lifeblood of any company looking to forge relationships with its audience.
