Future lineworkers and electricians got a firsthand look at the industry during the High School Lineworker and Electrician Camp, held May 31-June 5.
Hosted in partnership with the North Dakota Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives (NDAREC), the North Dakota Energy Education Program and electric cooperatives across the state, the weeklong camp provided students with hands-on training in AC/DC theory, circuit design, pole climbing, powerline construction, equipment operation, safety practices and troubleshooting.
The camp gave high school students an opportunity to explore rewarding careers in the electrical trades while learning directly from industry professionals.
βThis hands-on camp introduced students to meaningful, in-demand careers while helping build the next generation workforce,β said NDAREC General Manager Josh Kramer.
Thank you to the electric cooperatives, instructors, partners and students who made this year's camp a success.
