This never was a successful business, but it is still something I'm passionate about.

Potty training has so many steps and processes and it is fascinating to me. Every child moves at his or her own pace. It's like a giant hop scotch game where each child gets to arrange the "map" however they want.

Do you know why your child won't stay dry at night? Or why some children potty train so much faster than others? Do you care why? Or are you looking for a quick fix? I went out of business because too many people want a quick fix and they don't care to understand all the steps involved.

If you find yourself with questions please let me know. I really do enjoy helping parents help their kids through the process!

Did you know that staying dry overnight isn't a learned skill? It is actually a chemical reaction. There is a hormone that the body forms on it's own that controls the bladder over night so that it holds more than during the day and can therefore lead to staying dry all night. Some kids don't develop this hormone until age 10, sometimes even later! If you have a child who is fully potty trained during the day but is wet at night don't punish them. Count them as potty trained. There is nothing you can do to make their body produce the hormone, so worrying about night time accidents is only going to make you loose sleep and make them feel like they are failing. Just have them wear a pull up to bed and get some sleep. It'll happen when their body is ready, and that is different for each kid. Don't stress it, and don't cause undue anxiety in your child.

I will likely be shutting down Wee Things Consulting. I simply don't have time or energy to pour into it when no one really seems to care about the service offered. The reality is that people don't want to know what is happening developmentally with potty training, they only want results now. They don't want a shift in their thinking, only to be diaper free.

I love seeing a child succeed with potty training. I love the sense of accomplishment and how much freedom it brings the family.

What I don't love is hearing all the myths spread as fact and horror stories being shared to parents just starting to potty train. It hurts my heart to hear so much negativity about something that should be normal and natural.

If you are potty training or know someone who is, please reach out to me if it isn't going well. I really do want to help. I would eventually like this to actually be a business that makes money, but really I care more about helping families than I do about my bottom line. If my fee is what keeps you from reaching out don't let it stop you anymore. We can work something out.

I am beyond excited to get to present a workshop tomorrow evening. I think I'm ready!

Bonus--I think my youngest is fully potty trained. I think. Time will tell, but it gives me a good feeling going into this workshop!😁
