Nordic Soundscapes returns to the Minnesota Orchestra this November! 🎶❄️

From November 5–14, Music Director Thomas Søndergård and Conductor Laureate Osmo Vänskä unite for the Orchestra’s third annual Nordic Soundscapes Festival, celebrating orchestral music from northern Europe—past and present.

The celebration continues beyond the concert hall with performances from Nordic partner organizations, outdoor firepits, Scandinavian treats and spirits, and more.

The Greek National Opera () comes to Carnegie Hall on October 15 at 8:00 p.m. for 'Nikos Kazantzakis: An Odyssey in Music.' 🎶

Anita Rachvelishvili and Maria Kostraki join the Greek National Opera Orchestra and Manos Hadjidakis Ensemble, conducted by Vassilis Christopoulos, in works by Manos Hadjidakis, Mikis Theodorakis, Nikos Skalkottas, Dimitri Mitropoulos, and Giorgos Koumendakis.

The performance is presented as part of celebrations marking the Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s 30 years of grantmaking.

Just announced: A new season of 'This Is Minnesota Orchestra' premieres Friday, November 6, on Minnesota PBS! 🎶

Four concerts will air statewide, featuring pianists Isata Kanneh-Mason and Jon Kimura Parker, and violinists Veronika Eberle and Sergey Khachatryan.

Each concert will also be livestreamed and available to watch on demand on the Minnesota Orchestra’s YouTube channel.

Cedille Records Releases The Pacifica Quartet’s ‘American Portraits,’ Featuring World Premiere Recordings of Works by Gabriela Lena Frank & Jennifer Higdon, October 9.

Just in! Berliner Philharmoniker Recordings will release Klezmer Concerto, featuring Noah Bendix-Balgley, on October 2.

The digital album features Bendix-Balgley as violinist, composer, and arranger in music connecting the classical and klezmer traditions. The program was performed in concert in 2023 and is available to watch on the Digital Concert Hall.

The third movement of Fidl-Fantazye: A Klezmer Concerto will be released as a preview track on September 25. Beginning October 2, the full album will be available to download from berliner-philharmoniker-recordings.com, in the audio section of the Digital Concert Hall, and across all major digital music services.
