🔥 State of Ohio Burn Ban Reminder
The State of Ohio Burn Ban is in effect from October 1 through November 30.

🚫 No outdoor burning is permitted between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

If burning between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., please follow all State of Ohio open burning regulations and safety requirements for outdoor burning.

Please help keep our communities and surrounding areas safe by burning responsibly and following all applicable regulations.

Today… 25 years ago.

2,606 people woke up and began their morning, just like any other day.
246 people woke up and prepared for their morning flights.
343 firefighters began their morning shift.
60 police officers reported to work and began their morning patrol.
8 paramedics arrived for their morning shift.

None of them knew they would not see past 10:00 a.m. on September 11, 2001.

In one single moment, life changed forever.

Today, as you live, love, and enjoy the breaths you are given, remember how precious life truly is. Kiss the ones you love. Hold them a little tighter. Tell them you love them.

And never take a single second of your life for granted.

🚒⚽ A little help from the Fire Department!

This evening, while playing soccer at the field off Reed Rd. and Park Ave. E., a soccer ball found its way onto the roof of a nearby building.

Thankfully, our crew was on station right across the street and was able to lend a hand — or in this case, a ladder — and safely retrieve the soccer ball from the roof and getting the game back underway! 🚒🪜⚽️

We’re always happy to lend a hand and support our community — even when the call involves a soccer ball on a roof! 🚒⚽

We are having our Annual Hose Testing completed on Wednesday, July 22nd. You will not be able to get to the Recycling Bins during this time. They start in the morning and should be done by 5pm. Sorry for the inconvenience that this may cause people, but for the safety of the crew working and for your safety, the bins will be closed!

From all of us at the Mifflin Township Fire Department, we extend our deepest gratitude to those who gave everything to protect our freedoms. Their courage, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

On this Memorial Day, we stand united in remembrance and appreciation for our fallen heroes.

With the winter storm approaching this evening, here are a few things to keep in mind.

Here at Mifflin we will be staffing extra personnel, to help prepare for whatever mother nature may bring us. But with that being said, road conditions may be hazardous and our response times may still be delayed to make sure we get there safely.

If you do not need to travel, please stay home! If you must travel plan accordingly and leave early. Even if the snow stops the roads may not be completely clear.

The State, County and Township Road Workers will be out around the clock trying their hardest to stay on top of the roads. Give them time and space to do their job.

Everyone be safe these next few days!!
