Mansfield is celebrating Recycling Awareness Week, so here are some reminders on what the Environmental Services department allows for curbside recycling.

All items for curbside recycling should be empty, clean, dry, and loose inside the blue recycling cart. The typical items able to be recycled include: paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, and glass. Only the plastics displaying numbers 1, 2, and 5 can be recycled curbside. This is called a resin symbol and appears as a triangle shaped by three arrows, containing the number in the middle.

The Environmental Collection Center accepts certain items not included within curbside recycling.

Not everything can be recycled so if you have to go to the landfill this is good information to have.

The Arlington landfill, located at 800 Mosier Valley Road, is open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
