Ready to crush the next 90 days?

It's hard to believe that today marks the third day of the last quarter of 2024.

How did we get here this fast?

I know that as each of us ages the Earth doesn't rotate around the sun any faster, but it sure feels like it does!

Regardless, we are here today. And that means that there are only 90 days left before we put a period on 2024.

So, what is your plan to crush these last 92 days?

If you're like a lot of business owners and entrepreneurs I know, you probably don't have a solid plan in place.

No problem. Let me share with you a few ideas that might help you finish 2024 well.

1. Focus on Fewer Projects, Not Lots of Projects

As one of my mentors used to say, "No one can move 50 things down the field at one time."

In other words, if you want to crush your last 92 days of 2024, don't make a long list of projects so that your attention is constantly diverted.

Instead, focus your time and energy on one to three big projects that can move the needle for you and your business.

2. A Wishlist is Not a Plan

Another classic mistake that a lot of business owners and entrepreneurs make is to create a long list of projects they want to get down by the end of the quarter/year but then they do nothing more with them than list them. Oops!

Bottom line, if there's no built-in weekly accountability, there's no commitment to the project.

And if there's no commitment, the project is simply a wish.

So, my encouragement to you would be to pick fewer projects and then commit to them by installing a weekly accountability system.

3. If Your Plan Doesn't Impact Your Weekly Calendar, It's Not a Needle Mover

This is how you crush your goals. Every week for 13 weeks, you should be looking at your quarterly plan and asking, "What do I need to do this week to crush this target?"

Thirteen weeks isn't a long time.

If something is critical to accomplish within the next 90 days, then it should show up on your calendar every ... single ... week.

If it doesn't, you picked the wrong project to crush this final quarter of 2024.

4. Imperfect Action Today Beats Perfect Action Someday in the Future

As Edison said so well, “No one ever became rich pursuing perfection.”

So, let go of any issues related to perfection in you and instead focus on executing your plan. “80/20” should be your mantra.

If you want to crush your next 90, speed matters.

Ideas are great (and necessary). But ideas don't create change. Only ex*****on of those ideas creates change.

5. Most of the Things That Will Hinder You Are More Mental than Tactical

While most of us like to think that what hinders us is that we're missing some kind of magical tactic that will automatically propel success for us.

The reality is that the battle in our heads is where we get stuck.

So, if you want to crush your next 90 days, make sure you deal with the battle between your ears.

Fear, insecurity, imposter syndrome, lack of confidence, shame, procrastination, jealousy, etc. will kill progress faster than just about anything else.

Well, there you go. Five principles that can help you crush your next 90 days.

Why would someone sell their profitable $1M business?

Someone asked me recently:

“Arturo, if a Business is bringing in good income for the Owner…

… why would they sell it?

Surely they’d just get someone to run it for them, and go retire in Thailand or something?”

GREAT question!

Now…

… for you to understand the answer to this…

I need you to imagine you’re standing on the deck of a cruise ship.
Are you ready?

Okay…

Now let’s go one step further…

Imagine you’re holding your partner in your arms…

The sunset is dancing off the crystal blue water…

And as a waiter stops by with some appetisers…

You think to yourself…

“Life CAN’T get any better!!”

Then…

… you turn to your left, AND…

*BLEEEEEEEH*

There’s a man buckled over, blue in the face, hunched over in the foetal position…

You ask him if he’s okay…

And between slow… deep… breaths…

He utters back to you…

“I’m on the cruise alone… sea sick… and missing my partner back home!”

In other words…

While you both might be on a gorgeous boat…

… he’s having an AWFUL time!

This relates to the Businesses I teach you to buy, because…

Although they might be “great rides”...

… with heaps of income rolling-in…

… a team of loyal employees running most of the day-to-day…

For the Owner…

… who’s severely ill…

… needs to be a full-time carer for a loved one…

… or is just completely burnt-out after running the business for 30-odd years…

It doesn’t matter!

… the ONLY thought crossing their mind?

“I need to get off this cruise (sell my biz)... ASAP”

Does that make sense?

GREAT Businesses… DISTRESSED Owners.

And while they could hire someone else to manage the company for them?

They still won’t be removing themselves from the business completely, will they?

Reality is…

… they gotta review if the business is hitting their sales and profit targets each week…

… hold meetings with the manager/operator every month to ensure that the company is running smoothly…

And that’s where WE come in.

As Dealmakers…

Will the Seller TRUST ME? I have no "Blue Collar" experience!
Back again with another question.

“Arturo, I have ZERO Blue Collar Experience, but I’d like to acquire a Blue Collar-Style Business.

How can I come across as a Safe Pair of Hands to the Owner…

… so they trust me enough to Seller Finance their Company?”

Excellent question!

I have no doubts many people are thinking the same thing as this chap.

So here’s a bit of wisdom for you…

Becoming a Safe Pair of Hands and getting the Owner to Seller Finance you their company ISN’T about your Industry Experience…

But the deep down actual reason is…

Them being sold on your PLAN to keep the Business running at a high level…

… While simultaneously keeping their brand intact and not firing their employees.

Because that way…

Not only will they know the company will stay profitable so they can get paid through Seller Financing…

But they’ll also be able to drive past the Business and smile as they see their baby…

… which they spent 20 or 30 years building from the ground up…

Still operating and leaving behind a legacy for them.

Does that make sense?

I mean, just imagine… YOU own a Blue Collar Company for a sec…

… like a plumbing biz…

… okay?

Let’s say…

The BIGGEST plumbing company in the Country approaches you…

… and they tell you…

“After we acquire your Business we plan on changing the brand name and letting go of ALL of your employees… even the ones who’ve been with you from the start.

The reason for our purchase is because we want to absorb all the customers you have into our existing Business. That’s it. Nothing else.”

Would that have you immediately saying “YES” to them acquiring your Business – your legacy?

Unless you only care about cash…

… then probably not!

On the other hand…

Imagine if another potential buyer comes along…

(A Dealmaker)

And says…

“I’ll be honest with you. I have zero experience in this Industry.

What I will do, though, is…

I’ll hire one of the BEST Plumbers in the City to run this Business.

He has 18 years of experience as a Plumber…

… And he’s spent another 7 years running and growing Plumbing companies just like yours.

Here’s his resume.

Do you see how reliable this guy is?

I should also mention…

I’m not going to fire ANY of your employees. We’ll take good care of them all.

I’m not going to change the name you came up with for this company. Thousands of people will continue to see it every day as they drive past.

And on top of that…

If I miss a single seller Finance payment…

… you’ll have the option to take the Business back”

How you don’t need experience in an industry to get a “YES” from the Owner…
