🎉 A Big Thank You to Galion High School!
At Local 1216, we are thrilled to share the success of our inaugural LIUNA LEARN/Contractor Day Showcase! The event was filled with inspiration and valuable learning experiences. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Ohio Laborers' District Council, Ohio Laborers' Training Center, and Ohio LECET for their generous support and for sponsoring the luncheon. Their assistance with program logistics was crucial in ensuring a seamless experience for all participants.

This event provided an exceptional platform for students in the LIUNA LEARN program to engage with industry experts and delve into the dynamic world of construction. Through interactive demonstrations and discussions on the latest industry trends, students were able to envision the exciting opportunities that await them in this field.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Galion High School and all the contractor representatives who generously shared their insights and experiences with our future workforce. Our Business Manager, Hank Webb, highlighted the significance of such experiences for students to explore the diverse career paths available in construction. 🚧🔧

Local 1216 is always eager to contribute to the Annual Make A Difference Day Food Drive, and today marked its 23rd occurrence. We are proud to have donated $3,000 to support the incredible work of these organizations, and together with the allied trades, we raised a total of $6,350!

We would also like to extend our gratitude to Ohio Laborers' District Council and Ohio LECET for joining us at the event, contributing canned goods, and promoting with the LED billboard truck in support. We are delighted that these donations will help replenish the Catholic Charities and Wayfinders Food Pantries.

Through our combined efforts, we can make a positive difference in the lives of those around us and foster a stronger, more compassionate community. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this initiative a success! 🌟

At 63, Andrea Thompson of Local 1216 works traffic control and has been a LIUNA member for 11 years.

A union scholarship brought her back to Tradeswomen Build Nations this year. Last year's conference opened her eyes to how many women of every background are building side by side with their union brothers.

Andrea is grateful to belong to a strong union that stands behind men and women alike. Now she's excited to see all these women connect again.

What a great day at Richland County Day Springs Home as we helped kick off the summer with an event for the residents.

Since 2020, there has been a noticeable absence of community events and groups coming together to serve the people who call the county home their home. When the call went out for help, organized labor stepped up.

There are some things in life that are bigger than politics, contracts, or differences. Sometimes you have to lay everything else down and come together for the good of the community. This was one of those days.

A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time, energy, and hearts to make this event special for the residents. This is what community looks like.

We at Laborers' Local 1216 are thrilled to reflect on the incredible day we shared at the Peace On My Block event! A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who joined us, including the Mansfield City School District, for hosting such a great event. This was a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with our community and celebrate unity and harmony.

We were particularly excited to witness the U.S. Army Golden Knights air show—it rocked the stadium and added an exhilarating touch to the day! Also, thanks to Ohio LECET, which helped us equip attendees with hats and showcased our swag in support of work zone safety. Events like these truly highlight the importance of coming together to foster understanding and collaboration.

We are deeply grateful to be part of initiatives that aim to strengthen and empower our neighborhoods. Let’s continue to work collectively towards keeping the peace and positivity in our communities! 🌟
