This female was originally retained as my husband's personal competition prospect.

She is a 2-year-old, AKC,ASCA registered , intact, 34-pound female out of our full working lines and was bred specifically for athletic performance. She is small framed, light, agile, fast, and extremely quick-footed. She has the structure I look for in a performance dog: curled toes, long legs, efficient movement, and the ability to accelerate, collect, and change direction effortlessly.

She possesses exceptional drive, stamina, and work ethic while maintaining a natural off switch in the home.

Mentally, she was bred for competition, or herding venues. She is highly intelligent, naturally engaged, and stays on task exceptionally well. She learns quickly, enjoys problem-solving, and thrives when given a job. She is both toy and praise motivated and genuinely enjoys working with her handler.

Several of her littermates are currently competing and excelling in performance venues.

She is out of our dogs, Marana and Stetson, and carries the traits I intentionally breed for: athleticism, intelligence, trainability, focus, and partnership.

She is very devoted to her person and works best in a one-on-one relationship. She wants to be part of the activity and involved in whatever her handler is doing.

She has a solid foundation including basic obedience, crate training, house training, vehicle manners, and proper socialization.

Due to a severe back injury, my husband has been unable to continue her training and competition career. Rather than see her potential go unused, I am seeking a home that will develop her abilities and give her the opportunity to do what she was bred to do.

She will only be placed in a competitive performance home or an active search-and-rescue program.

The dogs we value most are calm, stable, confident, and clear-headed.

A nervous dog reacts.

There is a big difference.

We intentionally select dogs that can live comfortably in the real world. Dogs that can relax around children, settle in their environment, and confidently assess a situation without overreacting to every sound, stranger, or change around them.

Breeding isn't marketing.

Over the last few years, we've seen AI has made it possible for anyone to create professional-looking posts in a matter of minutes. It helps them to create intelligent posts, websites, videos, and pictures.

Yet.. what it cannot do is replace decades of experience, observation, and living alongside these dogs.

Not all Australian Shepherds are bred the same!

One thing we learned decades ago working with bloodlines, cattle, horses, and dogs is that genetics consistently reproduce predictable traits when you know your line and how to breed it.

Reata comes from our old working bloodlines of Australian Shepherds. A type of dog that has become increasingly difficult to find.

These are not frantic, unstable, overly social dogs constantly seeking stimulation from the world around them.

These dogs lock onto their person with an intensity that is almost hard to explain until you live with one.

They study your routines.
Watch your movements.
Anticipate your patterns.
Learn your expectations with very little correction.
