🚨 National Move Over Day 🚨

At Lone Star Towing, safety is personal. Every day, tow truck operators work along busy roadways, putting themselves at risk to help others.

Please remember to slow down, move over when safe, and stay alert when approaching tow trucks and emergency vehicles. A simple decision behind the wheel can make the difference between someone making it home safely or not making it home at all.

Let’s look out for those who look out for others. 💛🖤

National Move Over Day raises awareness of the senseless tragedies that occur when drivers fail to slow down, move over, and pay attention to those working along our roadways.

At Towbook, this day is deeply personal. We've lost far too many people in this industry who became like family to us.

To all tow truck operators and roadside workers, please stay alert, stay safe, and know that you're in our thoughts every day. 💛🖤

Everyone please stay safe and alert as our Hill Country areas are affected by all the rain 🌧️ ☔️ Turn around, Don’t Drown!

We are very early in the game of today's flash flood event, but from my assessment of what is already falling and what is still to come, it's safe to assume that many Hill Country rivers will flood today. Of greatest concern will be the Llano River and the Pedernales River.

The Pedernales is already rising from 10"+ of rain this morning, waiting to see just how high it will go. That water goes DIRECTLY into Lake Travis, bypassing the rest of the dams and lakes above Lake Travis.

The LLANO River will flood to some degree and likely require floodgate operates on Lake LBJ and Lake Marble Falls (the "passthrough" lakes) before that water goes into Lake Travis.

First things first, if you live along these rivers or lakes, you have time to prepare for the flood that's coming. Please do so TODAY while we wait to see just how much water will move into those rivers. Plan for the worst, hope for the best.

Second, let's talk about Lake Travis. It is 85% full and about 10 feet below full elevation. I think it will fill up. Probably. If it does reach 100% capacity, floodgate operations will be needed on Mansfield Dam for the first time since 2019. That will then have some impacts on Lake Austin and Town Lake.

Suffice it to say that this is a multi-day event even after the rain ends sometime this afternoon/evening. More to come.

Congratulations Paul!

I must say this is a bittersweet moment. Having known Paul for over 20yrs…the last 13-1/2 working for him…This is a Man who never met a stranger, never said no, give you his only bottle of water and pay for a hotel room for truck driver stranded by broken down truck. True Man of His word and always willing to teach Ya if you listen. A Man with such a passion for the Tow Life, He literally bleeds Diesel fuel. & hydraulic fluids. He’s still today a walking encyclopedia of Trucks, engines, trans, hydraulics, wiring, and Rigging …done more with one truck than most will ever do with two.
So Come out Sat Jan 24thd and show Him some Love !!!
