🚰 Pipes in unheated interior spaces such as basements, attics, and garages are at the most risk, but pipes running through cabinets or exterior walls can also freeze

🚰 Keep your thermostat set to the same temperature all day and night; If you’ll be away from home, leave the thermostat no lower than 55 F.

🚰 Let the cold water trickle from a faucet served by exposed pipes

💧Almost all homeowners will encounter a leak at some point.

💧READ THIS to be prepared and prevent costly water damage

Do you know where the main water shutoff is located for your home? If not, I recommend you locate it and make note of where it is in case of a serious leak.

Knowing this can save you some serious 💸

💧The main shutoff will typically be located in the basement or on ground floor, and near the perimeter of the house.

💧 check near your water heater, or if you know where your water main is located, the shutoff is typically on a pipe ran directly from the main. Look for the shortest path between your home and the water main.

❗️If you encounter a leak .... Wait❗️

Before you run to the main shutoff....

Many fixtures have their own shutoff valve...

💧Toilets- on the wall your toilet sits against, near the floor

💧Sinks- located beneath the sink, often inside a cabinet, hot and cold

💧Washing machine- Behind the machine you should find two valves, and sometimes a lever

❗️After you have shut off the water source, call a professional ❗️
