Make it crystal clear that you are not part of the bandwagon of the "me too" people. Increase your knowledge in your particular industry and speak or write with authority.
Be one mile ahead consistently. Keep advancing and always make it difficult for j***y fellows to keep up with the pace. Deepen yourself more in your thing. Achieve mastery. Don't ever be part of the game of guessing. Know your thing. Share cutting edge and up-to-date information on your industry.
2. BE SPAM-FREE
On no condition should you ever send junk and spam mass email blast to people. Don't ever buy emails or phone numbers of people that don't know you.
Don't ever comment about your products and services on unrelated posts or threads anywhere on the Internet.
Spamming is for j***y and desperate people.
You are a professional and a consultant, so build an online following. Build your tribe. Don't pitch people that don't know you. Give value to people, and they will come to you and give you permission to send them stuffs.
3. NEGOTIATE WITH CONFIDENCE
Stop panicking each time you want to tell your clients what to pay you. Stop licking client's butt in the name of hunting for clients.
Don't cheapen yourself unnecessarily. Don't be part of the desperate people that always underprice and then underdeliver.
If you know what you have and what you will be delivering, explain it to your clients and give them your price without your heart beating. Be a super salesperson.
4. DEVELOP SYSTEMS & PROCESSES
You should stop seeing yourself as a hustler and start seeing yourself as a consultant. So, you will need to develop systems and processes.
You don't just get a client, and bam, you start offering your service, then later, you start asking questions and arguing with the client.
You will need to develop your own strategy and clarity session. You will need to develop ancillary products and value ladder for your services.
You will need to have systems and processes for acquiring clients, working with them, retaining them and supporting them.
5. ALWAYS OVER-DELIVER
Some skilled people are just "hit and run" type of people. They are after the immediate gain. They only want quick bucks to eat and pay their bills.
Be different.
Give so much value to your clients. Build super relationships with your clients.
Your client today can become your family friend tomorrow.
Business is not purely about the money. It's about building relationships. It's the relationships that bring the money.
For instance, I have this particular client. I have been working with him for the past 5 years.
We are now family friends. And even business partners. We founded a company together that's working on some innovative business ideas. We will unveil these products (Software as a service) very soon.
So, deliver super value. Build relationships.
Great relationships will get you super referrals and testimonials. Not the funky and fake testimonials you pay someone on Fiverr to write for you or what I call "half name" testimonials people make up.
