Came across this very late but still active turkey nest on our job site this week!

The nest was located within the pine stand that we have been thinning for the last month or so. We went ahead and flagged the nest location with pink flagging to ensure our operators can leave the nest undisturbed.

Hoping these 8 eggs will produce healthy poults that will thrive in this new environment we have created for them! This thinning should provide great brooding habitat in the next few weeks with new forage and cover sprouting up!

Clearing the way for a new job in Pickens County!

Taking down a few big pines to widen the entrance for this job. To make things easier on the bulldozer to remove the stumps, we push these trees over a bit before cutting to loosen up the root ball.

Can’t wait to see the view after we get some trees cut here!

Out looking at some timber in Bartow County and came across this deer bed!

Deer commonly like to bed out on the point of a ridge like this where they have the wind to their favor and can overlook any incoming danger from a distance.

If you ever find what you think might be a deer bed but you aren’t sure, take a real close look on the ground for white belly hair like this to confirm!

Working on a new first thinning in East Alabama!

This landowner wanted a heavier first thinning to maximize wildlife benefit for hunting, so we are taking this dog hair thick stand of planted pines down to 50-60 square feet of basal area!

Can’t wait to see what this looks like after a good prescribed burn!

Out on a tract in Waleska looking at some timber and noticed this big bears tracks in the woods road!

Looks like he is not far by the way the grass is still matted down in the tracks! 👀 🐻
