Grateful doesn't begin to cover it!

Over this past month, I've had the honor of training and speaking for some truly incredible organizations — all committed to the mental health, wellbeing, communication, and leadership of their people.

Healthy workplaces don't happen by accident. They're built — intentionally, one conversation at a time. Thank you for letting me be part of that journey.

If your team was part of this journey: THANK YOU! You're proof that investing in people is always the right move.

Ready to bring this work to more organizations in this year. If your team is ready to build a healthier work climate, let's connect.

Still reflecting on the experience of delivering the keynote and closing session for the School Social Workers Association of Georgia conference.

The reaction in the room was truly overwhelming. The stories that were shared, the life moments that participants trusted me with, and the meaningful feedback I received left me with a full and grateful heart. Moments like this remind me that when helping professionals gather in spaces that allow honesty, reflection, and vulnerability, powerful connections happen.

School social workers do extraordinary work every day—supporting students, families, and communities often in the most challenging circumstances. Being able to share the “Beads of Balance” keynote and close out the conference with such a dedicated group of professionals was an honor.

I want to sincerely thank the SSWAG conference planning team for the opportunity to speak and pour into individuals who pour so much into others. Your commitment to creating spaces for reflection and renewal does not go unnoticed.

I look forward to continuing the conversations, building new connections, and staying connected with the many incredible professionals I had the opportunity to meet. The work continues, and so does the impact.

Grateful for the experience and the community.

SSWAG

Honored to be presenting for the School Social Workers Association of Georgia.

School social workers carry an incredible responsibility—supporting students, families, and school communities through some of life’s most difficult moments. But an important question often remains:

Who holds space for the helpers?

In this keynote, “Beads of Balance,” we will explore the emotional weight that helping professionals carry and the importance of creating intentional practices that help us stay grounded.

Through storytelling, reflection, and a hands-on bracelet activity, participants will create a wearable affirmation—a small but powerful reminder that helpers deserve care too.

I’m looking forward to spending time with leaders from Rockdale County Public Schools to continue an important conversation about staff wellness in education.

School leaders carry tremendous responsibility—not only for student outcomes, but also for cultivating environments where educators feel supported, connected, and emotionally sustainable in the work they do.

During this session, “Maintaining Staff Wellness: A Leader’s Guide to Managing Staff Mental Health,” we will explore:

• How emotional strain and grief can influence staff behavior and morale
• Why intentional leadership matters in creating psychologically supportive workplaces
• Practical ways leaders can foster connection, belonging, and resilience within their teams

When we support the wellbeing of educators, we strengthen the entire school community.

Excited to spend time with the future leaders of education through the Metro RESA iLEAD Leadership Program.

Leadership in education requires more than strong instructional knowledge—it also requires the ability to sustain yourself and your team in demanding environments.

During our session, “Reboot, Refresh, Rejuvenate,” we will explore practical approaches to self-care for educators and how leaders can intentionally create cultures that protect staff wellbeing.

We will also connect these ideas to the leadership framework from Maintaining Staff Wellness: A Leader’s Guide to Managing Staff Mental Health.

The next generation of educational leaders is stepping into complex work, and conversations like this help ensure they have tools not only to lead effectively—but to lead sustainably.

"TRIGGERED....am I using it correctly?"

“Ugh… that was triggering.”

We’ve all said it.

We’ve all heard it.

But does it mean what we think it means?

This post isn’t here to police language.

It’s here to offer clarity — especially around a word that comes from real experiences with trauma.

Swipe to learn the difference between being uncomfortable…

…and having your nervous system activate a trauma response.

It’s more nuanced than we think.

ADHD Isn’t a Deficit of Attention — It’s a Challenge of Processing

When we talk about ADHD, too often the focus is on “not paying attention.”
But in my professional opinion, ADHD isn’t a deficit of attention — it’s a processing disorder. Individuals with ADHD are often paying attention to everything — every sound, every thought, every detail — which makes it hard to focus on just one thing.

This constant processing can lead to a powerful and exhausting cycle between anxiety and depression.

🔄 This image illustrates how the cycle unfolds:
➡️ Processing difficulties (like task paralysis or time blindness) often spark anxiety as the mind struggles to keep up.
➡️ Anxiety then feeds forgetfulness, disorganization, and overwhelm.
➡️ Over time, exhaustion and perceived “failures” can give way to depression — feelings of low motivation, poor sleep, and emotional dysregulation.
➡️ And just like that, the cycle restarts.

🧩 For treatment to be effective, ADHD must be understood in the context of both emotional and cognitive functioning — not just focus and attention.

Support should target regulation, self-compassion, and executive functioning skills to truly break the cycle.

If you live with ADHD, anxiety, or depression: your brain isn’t broken — it’s processing the world on a different frequency. With the right tools and understanding, that frequency can become your strength. 🌱

🔥 Empower the Next Generation with Essential Soft Skills! 🔥

As workforce programs, internship coordinators, and student employment initiatives ramp up for summer, one crucial factor often gets overlooked—soft skills development.

At N'Spired By Achievement Family Services & Solutions, LLC., we are a collective of professionals dedicated to equipping young people with the critical skills they need to thrive in the workplace and beyond. Our interactive workshops cover:

✅ Effective Communication – "I Said What I Said..."
✅ Conflict Resolution – "Say It to My Face!"
✅ Mental Health & Stress Management – "I'm Tired of It Being OK to NOT Be OK!"
✅ Healthy Workplace Relationships – "Hey Friend!"
✅ Financial Literacy – "But It’s MY MONEY!"

💡 Why does this matter?
Technical skills can get students in the door, but soft skills help them succeed, collaborate, and grow in their careers. Whether you're managing a summer workforce program or preparing young professionals for success, we can help bridge the gap between talent and workplace readiness.

📩 Let's connect! If you're building a workforce readiness program, internship initiative, or youth employment project, let’s talk about how we can collaborate to make an impact!
